Genero Adran Premier round-up | Cardiff City hit six to continue winning streak

Genero Adran Premier leaders Cardiff City extended their winning streak to 13 matches in all competitions with a 6-0 victory away at The New Saints.

Iain Darbyshire’s side led by only one goal at half-time after Megan Bowen fired home from an in-swinging corner, but the floodgates opened after the break at Park Hall.

Clinical finishes from Eliza Collie and Molly Kehoe either side of Seren Watkins’ penalty opened up a four-goal cushion, while there was a moment to savour for 16 year-old Maddie Lloyd, who added a fifth with her first ever Genero Adran Premier goal.

Tija Richardson steered home a sixth deep into stoppage time, as the Bluebirds emphatically ended The New Saints’ seven-game winning run.

Second-place Swansea City remain six points behind their title rivals following a 3-0 home win over Cardiff Met.

Just seven days after their Genero Adran Trophy quarter-final victory over the Archers, the Swans were rewarded with three points for another excellent performance.

Robyn Pinder broke the deadlock at the start of the second half before a quickfire double from Katy Hosford gave Chris Church’s side a fourth consecutive clean sheet victory.

Wrexham moved a step closer towards confirming their spot in the top half with a narrow 1-0 home victory over Barry Town United.

With Rosie Hughes out injured, it was Ava Suckley who led the line for Steve Dale’s side and it was her 68th-minute header which proved to be the difference at the Rock.

Both sides had a number of chances during the opening hour, but the goalkeepers Del Morgan and Erin Brennan proved invaluable to their respective teams.

Wrexham were finally rewarded for their efforts midway through the second half when Suckley guided the ball home in a crowded box from TJ Dickens’ corner,

Bottom side Pontypridd United picked up their first league point of the season after holding top four challengers Aberystwyth Town to a 1-1 draw at the USW Sports Park.

Jasmine Turner’s calmly converted penalty midway through the first half was cancelled out by a superb finish from Rebecca Mathias with just four minutes left on the clock.

The Dragons are now five points adrift of safety, while the Seasiders will be frustrated to have dropped points in their pursuit of a top half spot.

Genero Adran Premier results:

Pontypridd United 1-1 Aberystwyth Town
Swansea City 3-0 Cardiff Met
Wrexham 1-0 Barry Town United
The New Saints 0-6 Cardiff City
