Genero Adran Premier round-up | Cardiff Met and TNS share the points in eight-goal thriller

After playing out a nine-goal thriller on the final day of last season, Cardiff Met and The New Saints drew 4-4 in another captivating Genero Adran Premier encounter at Cyncoed Campus.

The Archers led 3-1 at half-time, with Ingrid Ådland’s long-range strike the pick of the goals, but TNS were level after 72 minutes through Ella Hartley and Caitlin Chapman. Ådland then netted her second to put Met back in front, only for Chapman to score again to ensure the points were shared.

Newly-promoted Wrexham earned their first ever win in the Genero Adran Premier by triumphing 3-0 away at Pontypridd United.

Amber Lightfoot and Lili Jones scored within seven minutes of each other in the first half to put Steve Dale’s side in control at USW Sports Park, while Rosie Hughes wrapped up the victory shortly after the hour mark. A late red card for substitute Ava Suckley was the only dampener on a strong afternoon for the Red Dragons.

Swansea City were also 3-0 winners as they overcame Barry Town United in a confident display at Llandarcy.

Swans summer signing Sammy Wynne coolly slotted home to break the deadlock in the 38th minute, while a pair of second half Barry own goals from Chloe Jones and Nia Davies ensured that the hosts took home the points.

Cardiff City and Aberystwyth Town were both victorious on the opening weekend but had to settle for a point each in a 0-0 draw at Leckwith.

The Bluebirds dominated the chances but were kept at bay by a resolute Aberystwyth Town defence and goalkeeper Margot Farnes. Cardiff midfielder Seren Watkins was sent off late on after receiving a second yellow card.

Genero Adran Premier results:

Cardiff City 0-0 Aberystwyth Town
Cardiff Met 4-4 The New Saints
Pontypridd United 0-3 Wrexham
Swansea City 3-0 Barry Town United
