Genero Adran Premier round-up | Eliza Collie brace helps Cardiff City to crucial win over Wrexham at CCS

Eliza Collie continued her fine goalscoring form as her first half brace inspired Cardiff City to a 3-0 victory over Wrexham on their return to the Cardiff City Stadium.

Two clinical finishes from the 19-year old opened up a two goal cushion for the Bluebirds at half-time before substitute Tija Richardson wrapped things up in the 80th minute. Iain Darbyshire’s side maintain their six-point lead at the top of the Genero Adran Premier table as their winning run reaches 14 consecutive matches in all competitions.

Katy Hosford netted an outrageous strike as Swansea City defeated Pontypridd United 2-1 at USW Sports Park to keep up the pressure on their arch rivals at the top of the table.

Chris Church’s side received a piece of good fortune midway through the first half as Clare Daley steered Robyn Pinder’s low cross into her own net and they doubled their lead at the start of the second half as Hosford caught out Dragons goalkeeper Klaudia Wojtyczka with a looping effort from a tight angle. Ponty halved the deficit through Ffion Simmonds, but the Swans held on for all three points to continue their impressive run of form.

Barry Town United moved eight points clear of the relegation zone after a scintillating 4-1 victory over top four challengers The New Saints at Jenner Park.

Danielle Broadhurst got her name on the scoresheet with a fifth minute close range finish in just her second game for the hosts since she arrived from Cardiff City earlier in the month.

Second half goals from Aimee Deacon, Chloe Tiley and Amelia Herbert gave Barry a remarkable four-goal advantage, which certainly stunned the Saints. Lia Lewis scored a stoppage-time consolation goal for Greg Draper’s side, but the damage was already done, and this surprise defeat certainly spices up the race for the top four.
