Genero Adran Premier round-up | The New Saints confirm top spot in Plate Conference

Genero Adran Premier champions Cardiff City suffered just their second league defeat of the season as rivals Swansea City ran out 2-0 victors at Llandarcy.

Hurt after losing out on the title to the Bluebirds in midweek, the Swans got their revenge thanks to goals from Katy Hosford and Emily Thomas.

Hosford calmly converted from the penalty spot midway through the first half after being fouled in the box by Lisa Owen, while Thomas popped up with her first league goal for the club just after the hour mark as she latched onto Robyn Pinder’s through ball and slotted home.

Third-place Wrexham made it back-to-back wins by triumphing 3-0 over Aberystwyth Town at The Rock.

TJ Dickens marked her first league start since the beginning of February with a terrific free-kick to open the scoring after just 10 minutes. Nine minutes later, Amber Lightfoot doubled the lead by tapping home at the back post from Lili Jones’ low cross.

Rebecca Pritchard wrapped things up with a fierce 20-yard volley just before the hour mark, her first goal since October.

The New Saints secured top spot in the Plate Conference as three first half goals were enough to seal a convincing 3-0 victory over Barry Town United at Park Hall.

Greg Draper’s didn’t take long to break the deadlock as Izzy Redding headed home from Beth Lewis’ corner for her third league goal of the season in the 13th minute.

Emily Ridge’s first-time finish made it 2-0 six minutes later before Lauren Harris’ own goal gave the Saints comfort heading into the break. Barry pushed for a comeback in the second half but could not find a way past TNS’ resolute defence.

Cardiff Met netted a late equaliser to earn a 1-1 draw with already-relegated Pontypridd United at USW Sport Park.

Teenager Efa Preece-Jones put the Dragons ahead in the 33rd minute and they looked to be heading for just a second league win of the season before Esme Kilburn-Thompson netted her eighth goal in six games to salvage a point for the Archers with six minutes remaining.
