Genero Adran South round-up | Pontypridd United defeat title rivals

Pontypridd United moved three points clear at the top of the Genero Adran South with a 2-0 win away at title rivals Swansea University on Sunday.

The two sides were level on points heading into the game and there was nothing to separate from 69 minutes until Quianna Wheeler broke the deadlock.

Victory was sealed with just six minutes left on the clock as Nicole Fenton scored her ninth league goal of the campaign, condemning Swansea Uni to a first defeat since November.

Cascade scored a stoppage time winner as they came from behind to triumph 2-1 over Llanelli Town at Stebonheath.

After earning their first league win of the season last weekend, the Reds led at half-time thanks to Stacey Webber’s 28th-minute goal.

However, Anny Lewis came off the bench for Cascade in the 56th minute and found an equaliser 17 minutes later, before Erin Parry struck in the 97th minute to break Llanelli hearts.

The Reds have just one more league game to play and are one point above bottom-of-the-table Caldicot Town, who were beaten 6-1 at home by Penybont.

It was a frantic end to the first half at Jubilee Way as Bont forward Mollie Jones opened the scoring in the 37thminute only for Sarah Sprintall to equalise four minutes later, before Holly Broad restored the visitors’ lead in stoppage time – her first goal for the club.

Mikaela Hood gave Bont a two-goal cushion eight minutes into the second half, while Layla Williams scored twice in the space of seven minutes to put her side firmly in control with 14 minutes remaining. Victory was sealed in the closing stages by Maisy Fahey-Pennell, with Penybont now up to third in the league table.
