JD Cymru South 2025/26 Team of the Season – see who made it

The 2025/26 JD Cymru South Team of the Season was announced at the FAW National League Awards in association with Morgans Consult, on Saturday, 16 May.

For the first time, supporters were invited to vote for the Team of the Season, with the final selections determined by a combination of public votes and an independent panel to ensure a balanced outcome.

With three promotion places available in tier two, the campaign featured an intense title race and a fierce battle for the final promotion spot. That produced plenty of standout performers, but only 11 players could make the team.

The final XI includes five players from champions Trefelin, four from Cambrian United, and one representative each from Ammanford and Carmarthen Town.

JD Cymru South 2025/26 Team of the Season

GK: Scott Coughlan (Trefelin)

Coughlan has now secured back-to-back promotions, having helped Llanelli Town win the title last season before repeating the feat with Trefelin this term. The goalkeeper enjoyed an outstanding campaign, playing 23 matches, conceding just 11 goals, and keeping an impressive 17 clean sheets.

RB: Luke Cummings (Carmarthen Town)

Cummings returned to the Old Gold last summer and quickly became an influential figure after reuniting with Mark Aizlewood. From right-back, he contributed six goals and two assists, an excellent return from a defensive role.

CB: Shaun MacDonald (Trefelin)

The four-time Wales international arrived from Penybont last summer and immediately proved his quality, earning recognition as a contender for Player of the Season. MacDonald made 24 appearances and played a key role in the league’s meanest defence.

CB: Jarrad Wright (Cambrian United)

The experienced centre-back rejoined Cambrian from Pontypridd United in the summer and was ever-present throughout the league campaign, featuring in all 30 matches. Alongside his defensive reliability, Wright also chipped in with three goals and three assists.

LB: Cam Strinati (Cambrian United)

After winning the title with Llanelli Town last season, Strinati returned to his roots by rejoining Cambrian United in the summer. His impact was immediate, with the attacking full-back registering nine assists and two goals during an impressive campaign.

CM: Dylan Edwards (Cambrian United)

Having arrived from Loughborough University for his first experience of Cymru South football, Edwards adapted superbly. The midfielder was heavily involved going forward, scoring 11 goals and adding five assists. One of his standout moments came against title rivals Trefelin, helping secure Cambrian’s promotion place.

CM: Jordan Davies (Trefelin)

Trefelin captain Jordan Davies earns his place after another commanding season in midfield. While he contributed three goals, it was his leadership, composure, and defensive steel that made him such an important figure in the title-winning side.

CM: Tyler Brock (Trefelin)

Brock provided a major attacking threat from midfield throughout the campaign. Missing just one league match through suspension, he scored 19 goals in 29 appearances and added an assist. His most memorable display came in Trefelin’s 8-1 victory over Cwmbran Celtic, when he netted five times.

RW: Dan John (Ammanford)

After joining Cardiff Met from Haverfordwest County alongside his brother Dan, John was loaned back to Ammanford for a second spell, a move that proved hugely successful. He rediscovered his best form with 18 goals and eight assists, including a crucial strike against Cwmbran Celtic on the final day to secure promotion.

ST: Luke Bowen (Trefelin)

Trefelin knew exactly what they were getting when they signed the experienced Bowen from Briton Ferry Llansawel last summer, guaranteed goals. The 38-year-old delivered once again, scoring 24 times in 24 appearances to claim the JD Cymru South Golden Boot.

LW: Liam Eason (Cambrian United)

Completing the side is the JD Cymru South Player of the Season, Liam Eason. After helping Llanelli Town earn promotion last year, he repeated the achievement with a club he has a strong connection to in Cambrian United. His remarkable tally of 19 goals and 14 assists made him one of the division’s standout performers.
