Gruff Harrison has confirmed his 18-man Tîm Rhanbarthol Cymru squad for the intermediate round of the 2026/27 UEFA Regions’ Cup.
Harrison’s team of South Wales-based players will compete in Group 1 at the tournament between 2-8 September, after former boss Andy Hill led the squad to a 6-1 victory on aggregate over their Northern counterparts across two legs in May.
The UEFA Regions’ Cup is a unique amateur tournament held every two years which features players who have never competed at any professional level.
All of Tîm Rhanbarthol Cymru’s intermediate round matches will take place in Bosnia-Herzegovina, beginning against Bitola (North Macedonia) on 2 September, before they face Cilicia (Armenia) on 5 September and Zenica-Doboj (Bosnia-Herzegovina) on 8 September.
The winner of the group will progress to the finals which are set to be held in the first two weeks of either June or July 2027 and hosted by one of the qualifiers.
To be available for selection for Tîm Rhanbarthol Cymru, players must never have signed a professional contract and never have played a single minute in any top-flight league. They must be at least 19 years old and no older than 40. Players do not need to be Welsh but must have been registered in their region for a period of at least two years.
Seven different Novira Cymru South clubs are represented in Harrison’s squad, with Pontypridd United – who have won all of their first four matches this season – most prominently so with Clayton Farrah, Ethan Edwards, Jack Jones and Kofi Rowe all selected.
Pure Swansea have also made a perfect start to the campaign following their promotion from the third tier and they have three players called up – Dan Ingram, Casey Coughlin and Mason Kelly. Coughlin is the joint top scorer in the Novira Cymru South this season with five goals, tied with Ponty’s Ethan Edwards.
There are two players from the Ardal South West selected – Penrhiwceiber Rangers skipper Warren Jones and midfielder Olly Redhead who is part of Harrison’s Ynysygerwn side. Redhead scored in the second leg of May’s play-off but is one of just six survivors from that squad four months ago.
