Airbus UK Broughton moved five points clear at the top of the JD Cymru North table with a 4-1 victory over Flint Mountain on Friday night.
It was a frantic start at the Hollingsworth Group Stadium with both sides finding the net inside the first nine minutes through Kaiden Cooke and Sam Molyneux respectively.
However, The Wingmakers eventually took a firm grip on the match when clinical finishes from Tyler McManus and Kieran Evans opened up a two-goal advantage by half-time.
A fifth consecutive win for Mark Allen’s side was wrapped up in the 89th minute when substitute Sam Baker got in on the act with a powerful finish at the back post from Joe Palmer’s corner.
Penrhyncoch produced a stunning late comeback to defeat Ruthin Town 3-2 away from home for their first win of the season.
Jack Edwards’ 25th-minute opener for Ruthin was cancelled out on the stroke of half-time by Dan Owen, but Edwards restored the hosts’ lead in the 70th minute with his second of the afternoon.
Penrhyncoch captain Tomos Evans got his side level again with an equaliser in the 86th minute, before the Roosters completed the turnaround through substitute Geoff Kellaway who struck the winner in the second minute of stoppage time.
Reigning champions Holywell Town climbed up to third as a dominant second half display earned a 5-2 win over Llay Miners Welfare at The Ring.
The Wellmen took an early two-goal lead courtesy of composed finishes from Jake Roberts and Jamie Breese, but were left stunned on the half hour mark as two goals in quick succession from Bisensio Kamilo and Matthew Worrall levelled the contest.
However, Holywell went back in front just a minute into the second half through Morgan Murray, who capitalised on a goalkeeper error from Mike Jones. A brace from Jake Cooke in the final half hour secured all three points.
Nathan Brown’s hat-trick inspired Denbigh Town to a dominant 5-1 win over Gresford Athletic at Central Park.
Both sides traded blows when Owen Davies’ opener for Denbigh was cancelled out by Toby Gallagher-Keenan’s first Gresford goal of the season. However, a penalty from Brown saw the hosts take a narrow lead into the break.
Things got even better for Dewi Llion’s team three minutes after the restart as captain Paul Fleming poked the ball home in the midst of a goalmouth scramble. The pick of the Denbigh goals came on 67 minutes as Brown unleashed a fierce effort into the top corner from around 30 yards out.
Brown completed his hat-trick with another strike from distance in the 75th minute as Colliers goalkeeper Lewis Dutton misjudged a loose ball, allowing the Denbigh forward to curl home into an empty net.
Bangor 1876 secured the bragging rights on derby day as they claimed a 2-0 win away at Llandudno.
The Seasiders had gone unbeaten in their opening four home matches of the season in all competitions, but Bangor took the lead in the 68th minute when Joe Culshaw met Mason Blackwell-Jones’ delivery and headed beyond Cameron Darling.
Culshaw was again involved in the second goal as he was fouled in the box in the 88th minute, allowing talisman Corrig McGonigle to step up and convert from the penalty spot to clinch victory.
Colwyn Bay extended their unbeaten run to four matches with a narrow 1-0 victory away to Mold Alexandra.
The decisive moment arrived with 59 minutes on the clock and in bizarre fashion. Seagulls midfielder Tom Creamer jumped in front of Mold goalkeeper’s Joe Smith’s attempted long ball upfield and his contact on the ball was enough to see it trickle over the line.
Prestatyn Town’s first match following former manager Matty Roberts’ departure ended in a 3-1 home defeat to Guilsfield.
Macauley Taylor’s looping header cancelled out Jamie Hyne’s opener for the Guils, but the visitors retook the lead three minutes before the interval through Chris Cathrall, who produced a stunning volley to beat Robbie Williams.
The home side did all they could to find another equaliser, but they were left deflated in stoppage time when the Guils added a third through Joe Haycock, who scored his fourth goal of the season to secure his side back-to-back away wins.
