The race for a spot in this season’s JD Cymru Premier top six has come down to the final round of matches in Phase One, which will all be played on Tuesday 13 January (KO 19:45).
The New Saints, Connah’s Quay Nomads, Penybont and Caernarfon Town have all confirmed their places in this season’s Championship Conference – leaving two remaining spots and four clubs still mathematically in with a chance of claiming them.

Colwyn Bay (5th place, 30 points, +5 GD)
With a three point advantage and a better goal difference than the two teams below them, Colwyn Bay look to be in a strong position to claim a top six spot in their first season back in the top-flight.
However, the Seagulls arguably have the toughest fixture on Matchday 22 as they travel to current league leaders The New Saints.
Colwyn Bay will finish in the top six if:
- They win or draw against The New Saints
- They lose against The New Saints AND Barry Town United or Cardiff Met fail to win
- They lose against The New Saints AND Barry Town United win AND Cardiff Met win without making up an eight-goal (or greater) GD deficit
Barry Town United (6th place, 27 points, +4 GD)
Aiming to compete in the Championship Conference for the first time in five years, Barry currently sit in sixth by virtue of having a better goal difference than Cardiff Met in seventh.
The Linnets are at home against bottom-of-the-table Llanelli Town on Tuesday night. This game is live on Sgorio.
Barry Town United will finish in the top six if:
- They win or draw against Llanelli Town AND Cardiff Met fail to win
- They win against Llanelli Town AND Cardiff Met win by at most six goals more
- They win against Llanelli Town AND Colwyn Bay lose
- They lose against Llanelli Town AND Cardiff Met lose AND Haverfordwest County fail to win or win but without making up a 12-goal (or greater) GD deficit
Cardiff Met (7th place, 27 points, -3 GD)
Seventh-place Cardiff Met are currently level on points with sixth-place Barry but possess a worse goal difference, meaning they will need to better the Linnets’ result if they are to overtake them.
The Archers travel to third-place Penybont on Tuesday night.
Cardiff Met will finish in the top six if:
- They win against Penybont AND Barry Town United fail to win
- They win against Penybont AND Barry Town United win by seven or more goals fewer
- They win against Penybont AND Colwyn Bay lose against The New Saints, with Cardiff Met making up an eight-goal (or greater) GD deficit
- They draw against Penybont AND Barry Town United lose against Llanelli Town
Haverfordwest County (8th place, 24 points, -8 GD)
Haverfordwest County are not mathematically out of the top six equation, but it appears an almighty task for Tony Pennock’s side to climb above both Met and Barry.
The Bluebirds host Briton Ferry Llansawel on Tuesday night, with the Reds only two points further back in the table.
Haverfordwest County will finish in the top six if:
- They win against Briton Ferry Llansawel AND Barry Town United lose (with at least a 12 goal swing between the two results) AND Cardiff Met lose (with at least a five goal swing between the two results)
