2024/25 JD Cymru South awards
Player of the Season

Noah Daley – Carmarthen Town
The captain has led by example for Carmarthen Town this season. Still just 23, Noah Daley has contributed 24 goals in 28 JD Cymru South games for the Old Gold and has been a key player for Mark Aizlewood’s team throughout the campaign.
Liam Eason – Llanelli Town
The striker has enjoyed a superb individual season for Pontypridd United and Llanelli Town, scoring consistently for both clubs. A January move to Llanelli Town saw the 27-year old score 11 goals to help his team to the JD Cymru South title and take his season tally to 27 in 29 games and with it claim the Golden Boot.
Gareth Tedstone – Trethomas Bluebirds
A key part of Trethomas Bluebirds’ surprise title challenge were the goals and overall presence of striker Gareth Tedstone. With 16 goals in 24 league appearances, the 33-year old consistently produced for his club as Trethomas Bluebirds pushed Llanelli Town all the way before finishing five points behind.
Manager of the Season

Mark Dunford – Trethomas Bluebirds
Despite only being promoted to the JD Cymru South last summer, Trethomas Bluebirds have made a huge impression and remained in the title race with just two games remaining. Mark Dunford’s side made their intentions clear by winning their first four games and suffered just two defeats since the end of November.
Sam Houldsworth – Newport City
Undefeated in their last eight games of the season, claiming 22 points from a possible 24 in the process, Sam Houldsworth’s Newport City claimed a third-place finish in what was also their first season in the JD Cymru South. The aim for Houldsworth and his players now will be to take that end of season form into next season and push for one of the three promotion places available.
Lee John – Llanelli Town
The highest-scoring team in the JD Cymru South, Llanelli Town scored an impressive 64 goals in their 30 league games as Lee John’s side were deservedly crowned champions. The side also had the best defensive record in the division and return to the JD Cymru Premier high in confidence after a memorable and successful campaign.
Young Player of the Season

Ethan Edwards – Trethomas Bluebirds
The 22-year old was a creative force for Trethomas Bluebirds throughout the campaign, registering nine assists to compliment his nine league goals as his side claimed the runners-up position. Edwards has now been with the club for three seasons and has established himself as an integral part of the team.
Roan Piper – Trefelin BGC
Although injury kept the 20-year old out of action through December and more of January, the striker still made the most of his opportunities in the JD Cymru South, scoring seven goals in 24 appearances. Playing alongside Lee Trundle has no doubt been a valuable education and he will be keen to get more minutes next season after making his mark for the senior team.
George Sheppard – Caerau Ely
Despite a difficult campaign for Caerau Ely, the performances of teenager George Sheppard have been a huge positive for the club. Almost ever-present for the side, the 19-year old has shown a defensive maturity and played an important role in the team avoiding relegation.
