Calum Bateman scored a dramatic stoppage-time winner as JD Cymru South leaders Cambrian United secured a 2-1 over Aberystwyth Town at Park Avenue on Saturday.
Jay Woodford hammered home a loose ball inside the area to give Cambrian the lead on 27 minutes, but Aberystwyth were level just 10 minutes later as Rackeem Reid brought down Jonathan Evans’ long ball and finished coolly past Morgan Davies.
Richie Ricketts and Tom Mason came agonisingly close to putting Aber ahead in the second half as their efforts were denied by the crossbar, but it looked like the points would be shared until a remarkable end to the contest.
Cambrian were reduced to 10 men in the 13th minute of stoppage time as Frazer Thomas received a second yellow card, but the Rhondda side nonetheless snatched victory moments later when Bateman headed home from Taylor Jones’ free-kick. They are now five points clear at the top of the table, although second-place Trefelin have two games in hand.
Ynyshir Albions moved six points clear of the relegation zone with a crucial 1-0 victory over bottom-of-the-table Cwmbran Celtic on Saturday.
The decisive moment came in the 56th minute when Calum Salter received Cory Morgan’s pass, rounded Celtic goalkeeper Lewis Watkins and slotted home his fourth goal of the season. It was a first win since August for Ynyshir, while Celtic have now lost six consecutive games.

Third-place Ammanford made it eight games in unbeaten with a comfortable 3-0 victory away at Baglan Dragons on Friday night.
Wyn Thomas’ side were ahead after just two minutes as Matt Delaney found the net, before Dan John doubled the advantage in the 17th minute with his fourth goal in three matches. Adam John sealed victory with his side’s third goal on the hour mark.
Promotion hopefuls Carmarthen Town and Caerau Ely shared the points in a 1-1 draw at the LHP Stadium on Friday night.
Liam Thomas bagged his first league goal in almost two months to put Carmarthen ahead in the 28th minute, but the visitors levelled the contest just after the hour mark as Charlie Lewis converted from the penalty spot.
Carmarthen defender Noah Osborne was sent off for a second bookable offence in the 73rd minute, but the Old Gold held on to claim a point and remain unbeaten at home in the league this season.

Ethan Edwards scored both goals as Pontypridd United came from behind to triumph 2-1 over Trethomas Bluebirds at USW Sports Park on Friday.
Jay Thomas put the Bluebirds ahead in the 26th minute, but Edwards levelled things up against his former club in first half stoppage-time. The Dragons forward then netted the winning goal with 76 minutes on the clock, as Ponty made it seven points from the last nine available.
Corey Jenkins netted twice as Treowen Stars secured consecutive wins and clean sheets for the first time this season with a 2-0 victory over Newport City at Bush Park on Saturday.
It was a frustrating afternoon for Newport, as Kayne Mclaggon’s penalty was saved by Cael Jones in the first half before Nat Jarvis was sent off following two yellow cards in quick succession at the start of the second period.
Treowen made their man advantage count as Jenkins netted in the 67th and 89th minutes to secure three points which takes Ben Murphy’s side up to 10th in the table.
