JD Cymru South leaders Cambrian United moved four points clear at the top of the table with a 5-2 victory over Cardiff Draconians at the M&P Group 3G on Saturday.
It was a frantic opening 24 minutes in the Rhondda as Sam Roberts’ penalty for the Dracs was almost immediately cancelled out by the league’s top scorer Liam Eason. Sam Cawley restored the visitors’ advantage, but Eason set up Cody Williams to level the contest again.
Cambrian took the lead for the first time as Eason netted again in the 38th minute, before the advantage was doubled in the blink of the eye as Williams also scored again moments later. 19-year-old Williams converted from the penalty spot late on to complete his first ever senior hat-trick and seal back-to-back wins for his side.
Afan Lido earned a first home league win of the campaign as they remarkably triumphed 3-2 over title-chasing Caerau Ely at the Marston’s Stadium on Friday night.
Lido remain managerless after sacking Garry Taylor, but took the lead after just eight minutes as captain Ben Parry headed home from Cory Woods’ cross for his first ever goal for the club. Woods also grabbed the assist as Ioans Evans doubled the advantage five minutes into the second half.
Luke Gullick stunned the hosts by scoring twice in two minutes to level the contest by the hour mark, but Lido restored their lead in the 76th minute through a moment of magic from Liam Griffiths, who spotted Exauce Dimonekene off his line and lobbed the goalkeeper from distance. There was more woe for Caerau Ely late on as Dan Griffiths was sent off for a second bookable offence.
Defeat for Caerau Ely meant that Trefelin moved up to second in the table with a 2-0 victory over Pontypridd United at Ynys Park on Saturday.
After a goalless first half, Trefelin took the lead 11 minutes after the break as Roan Piper scored for the first time in the league since August. Tyler Brock netted his third goal in four league matches to double the lead in the 76th minute, wrapping up a win that extended his side’s unbeaten run in the division to nine matches.

Aberystwyth Town earned a third consecutive away win with an entertaining 3-2 victory over Trethomas Bluebirds on Saturday.
Dylan Downs’ deflected effort from distance after just four minutes and a cool finish from captain Ben Davies early in the second half seemed to have Aber in control of the contest, but the Bluebirds levelled the contest thanks to Jay Thomas’ volley and Josh Williams’ close range strike within nine minutes of each other.
However, a goalkeeping error proved to be the decisive moment as the Bluebirds’ Elliott Jones spilled Rackeem Reid’s cross into his own net in the 77th minute, which proved enough to earn Aber victory. Trethomas are now winless in their last five league games.
Carmarthen Town climbed up to fourth place as Tom Dyson scored a brace in a 2-0 victory away at Ynyshir Albions on Saturday.
Dyson opened the scoring on the stroke of half-time before he doubled the advantage midway through the second half as his effort from the edge of the area deflected beyond Harry Webber.
Incredibly, it was a first away league win since the opening day of the season for Mark Aizlewood’s side, who are now unbeaten in their last six league games.

Baglan Dragons earned their first league win since the opening weekend as they triumphed 1-0 away at bottom of the table Cwmbran Celtic on Friday.
The only goal of the game arrived after just six minutes as Dylan Thomas scored for the first time this season. Dragons defender Jordan Pike was shown a straight red card with just under 20 minutes left to play, but Carl Clement’s side managed to hold on to their clean sheet to pick up three points.
Llantwit Major extended their unbeaten run to four league matches as they earned a 1-1 draw away at Treowen Stars on Saturday.
Corey Jenkins scored for the second consecutive game to give the Stars the lead after 14 minutes, but Kofi Rowe’s equaliser just before half-time proved enough to see the points shared.
Nothing could separate Newport City and Ammanford in a goalless draw at Newport Stadium on Saturday.
Both sides are part of the chasing pack chasing the top three, but neither could find a victory that would have proved so important as Newport kept their first clean sheet on home turf since the opening day, while Ammanford kept their first shutout since August.
