Trethomas Bluebirds moved back to the top of the JD Cymru South table with a 3-2 home win over Afan Lido on Friday night.
Lido, playing their first match under new manager Garry Taylor, got off to a flying start as Connah Troy headed home from Sean Hanbury’s corner after 20 minutes. However, the Bluebirds had turned the game around by half-time as Jack Jones set up both Tom Gameson and James Young to earn a narrow lead.
Damon Thomas got Lido back on level terms five minutes into the second half with his thunderous strike from distance, but a straight red card for Kieran Jenkins for a foul inside the box handed the hosts the impetus again.
Gareth Tedstone missed the resulting penalty, but the Bluebirds eventually found their winning goal in the 81stminute courtesy of Kallum Thomas, who guided his effort beyond a crowded area.
Mark Dunford’s side remained at the summit after Cambrian United and Carmarthen Town both suffered defeats on Saturday afternoon.

Pontypridd United captain Jarrad Wright starred as his side moved up to third place with a 2-0 win at home to Cwmbran Celtic on Friday night.
Wright found the breakthrough on 35 minutes as his header creeped into the back of the net via the post, which remained the difference between the two sides until the final five minutes of the game when the Ponty skipper set up Liam Eason to score his ninth league goal of the campaign.

The Reds led after just five minutes as Ethan Cann scored his fifth goal in six league games, but Young Guns captain Jack Ashford equalised for his side midway through the first half.
The winning goal arrived on 70 minutes as Llanelli substitute Bradley Gibbings bagged his first goal for the club to ensure the Reds bounced back following a late defeat to Newport City last weekend.
Ammanford claimed a third successive home win with a 3-1 victory over Goytre United on Friday night.
