Trefelin sealed the JD Cymru South title following an emphatic 5-0 win away at Newport City on the final day of the season.
It has been an enthralling season-long battle with Cambrian United at the top of the table, but it is Andy Hill’s side who get their hands on the trophy after finishing two points above the Rhondda side.
Trefelin have lost just two league games all season and won 20 of their last 21 matches. They finish the campaign unbeaten away from home in the JD Cymru South, winning 14 of their 15 games on the road. They have been the highest scorers in the division (83 goals scored) and also possess the best defence (17 goals conceded).
The evergreen Luke Bowen has found the net 22 times, including a hat-trick on the final day, to secure the league’s Golden Boot, while Tyler Brock – who like Bowen joined from Briton Ferry Llansawel last summer – has also starred with 18 goals. Goalkeeper Scott Coughlan, who also won the JD Cymru South with Llanelli Town last season, claims the league’s Golden Glove after recording a remarkable 17 clean sheets in 23 matches.
It is the second time that manager Andy Hill has claimed the second tier title, after he guided Llanelli Town to top spot in Welsh Football League Division One in 2017/18.
With promotion already secured before this weekend, Trefelin will play JD Cymru Premier football next season for the first time in their history.
