Swansea City return to the Swansea.com Stadium when they host Briton Ferry Llansawel in the Genero Adran Premier on Sunday afternoon.
Swansea held four fixtures in SA1 throughout last season’s Genero Adran Premier, but only managed to win once against Barry Town United. Besides that, the Swans lost to Wrexham, Cardiff City and The New Saints, so they will be hoping for much more joy at the stadium in 2026/27.
Yzzy Taylor’s side made a convincing start to October with a 4-0 away win at Barry Town United, but they failed to build on that after losing 8-1 at home against Wrexham last weekend. A trademark stunner from Chloe Chivers, who has five goals in her last three games, was perhaps the only moment of quality in an otherwise disappointing afternoon.

Fifth-place Briton Ferry also got October underway with an emphatic win as they beat Aberystwyth 7-1 thanks to hat-tricks from Maizie Stiens and Freya Peyton. 15-year-old Stiens found the net again last weekend as she put Ferry a goal up away to The New Saints before the Reds eventually suffered a 3-1 loss. Ferry have scored first in five out of their six games so far, but have gone on to drop eight points from winning positions.
Aimee Deacon’s four-goal haul inspired Swansea to a 6-1 win over Ferry in the first meeting between the two sides last season. Deacon was also on target in the reverse fixture as the Swans triumphed 3-1 on the road.
Current leaders The New Saints put their perfect record to another tough test as they travel to face Cardiff City at the CIS Stadium.
Saints are currently three points clear at the top of the Genero Adran Premier following their dramatic 3-2 win over Wrexham a fortnight ago, where Fiona Barry scored a dramatic stoppage time winner for the second weekend running. Barry also netted in a 3-1 win over Briton Ferry Llansawel last Sunday to become only player to score in all six league fixtures so far, so the 20-year-old will be confident she can haunt her former club.

Cardiff are also on an impressive winning streak of their own as they have won their last four matches to sit third in the table and six points behind TNS. The Bluebirds secured their biggest top-flight win this decade with a 10-0 triumph away to Aberystwyth Town last weekend, inspired by four goals from Kate Oakley. Noah Bushby will be unable to select defender Thierry-Jo Gauvain in the capital this Sunday following her straight red card against Aberystwyth.
Both teams earned victory against each other and drew twice across the four league meetings between the two sides last season, while Cardiff recorded a pair of 3-0 wins in the Genero Adran Trophy and Bute Energy Welsh Cup.
Wrexham hope to maintain pressure on leaders The New Saints when they host Cardiff Met at The Rock.
Wrexham’s 3-2 defeat to TNS was just their second home defeat in the Genero Adran Premier for 18 months, but the Red Dragons put that frustrating result behind them with a statement 8-1 win away to Swansea City last weekend as Faye Knox and Katie Barker both scored hat-tricks.

Cardiff Met have proved some doubters wrong so far in their first season back in the top-flight as sit on five points from their first six games, which already puts the Archers five points clear of the relegation zone. Faith Mulenga scored for the second straight home fixture as her late penalty salvaged Met a point in a 2-2 draw against Barry Town United last weekend.
Wrexham won 3-0 when they last hosted Cardiff Met in the 2024/25 top-flight campaign, while both sides played out a 1-1 draw in the reverse fixture.
Aberystwyth Town and Barry Town United meet at Park Avenue with both teams still searching for their first win of the season.
Aberystwyth sit bottom of the table after losing all six of their opening matches, scoring just twice in the process. The Seasiders will be looking to respond after suffering a heavy 10-0 defeat to Cardiff City last weekend, with their clash against fellow strugglers Barry offering a more favorable opportunity to get their first points on the board.

Barry would have been disappointed to squander a two-goal lead in their 2-2 draw against Cardiff Met last weekend, although that first point of the season did lift the Linnets off bottom spot and Steve McCarthy-Campbell’s side certainly have positives from that outing to build on.
Barry were victorious in their first three meetings against Aberystwyth last season as they earned 3-2, 2-1 and 3-0 wins, but Aber eventually got revenge as Carys Bufton’s hat-trick proved decisive in a thrilling 4-3 victory.
