Genero Adran Premier | Weekend preview

The only Genero Adran Premier fixture of the weekend sees The New Saints host Pontypridd United on Sunday afternoon.

There was a fierce battle between the two clubs for a spot in the top half last season, with TNS ultimately victorious but only by virtue of one goal scored, which Emily Ridge got in the 88th minute of their 4-0 win over Abergavenny Town at the end of phase one. However, it has been a different story so far in 2023/24 as they have had contrasting campaigns.

TNS are once again in the mix to finish for a place in the Championship Conference, having picked up 10 points from seven matches so far. A draw or a win at Park Hall on Sunday would see Greg Draper’s side move up to fourth place.

Meanwhile, Pontypridd have lost all seven league games this season and are currently six points adrift at the bottom of the table. The Dragons are still on the hunt for a new manager following James Fishlock’s departure in October.

Goals from Dani Staley, Izzy Redding and Caitlin Chapman helped The New Saints to a 3-1 victory away at USW Sports Park on the opening day of the campaign.
