Genero Adran North | Weekend preview

Felinheli and Llandudno will both hope to continue their winning starts to the season when they meet in the Genero Adran North on Sunday.

Both clubs earned three points on the opening weekend of the league campaign before also triumphing in their first Genero Adran Trophy group stage matches.

Jasmin Dutton scored a hat-trick in a 3-0 win for Llandudno in the clubs’ last league meeting in March after Felinheli had triumphed 3-2 earlier in the campaign. The Cae Seilo club signed both Sioned Phillips and Ceri Slaney from the Seasiders this summer.

Rhyl 1879 have made a strong start to the season, winning 1-0 against Bangor on the Genero Adran North opening weekend before triumphing 6-2 away at Llanfair United in the Genero Adran Trophy.

In contrast, their opponents newly-promoted NFA have been heavily beaten in their Adran North and Adran Trophy fixtures so far. However, they will take confidence from an 11-0 win over Welshpool Town in the Bute Energy Welsh Cup last weekend.

Sade Benjamin scored 25 goals for NFA in the NWWFL last season but signed for Rhyl 1879 in the summer and has already netted seven times in three games for her new club.

Bangor were victorious in the Bute Energy Women’s Cup last week and will now hope to get their first ever Genero Adran North win on the board when they host Connah’s Quay Nomads.

Andrew Wright’s side suffered narrow 1-0 defeats in their league opener against Rhyl 1879 and in the Genero Adran Trophy against Llandudno.

Meanwhile, the Nomads have had a perfect start to the new campaign, winning all five of their matches in all competitions – scoring 29 goals and conceding just one.

Airbus UK Broughton and Llanfair United have both struggled so far this season, losing on the opening matchdays of the Genero Adran North and Genero Adran Trophy.

But something will have to give when they meet at the Hollingsworth Group Stadium on Sunday, with at least one side certain to get their points tally up and running.

Airbus’ only league points in the whole of last season came against Llanfair in March, when Georgia Spibey struck in the 81st minute to secure a 1-0 win for the Wingmakers.
