Genero Adran North | Weekend preview

There is a crunch clash in the Genero Adran North title race on Sunday as leaders Llandudno travel to second-place Connah’s Quay Nomads.

The Seasiders went three points clear at the top of the table following their 6-1 victory over Llanfair United last weekend, but the Nomads’ postponed fixture against NFA means they now have a game in hand over their rivals.

Jordan Parry’s side will be looking to bounce back from a surprise 4-0 home defeat to Felinheli in their last league outing, which swung the title race back in Llandudno’s favour.

Goals from Phoebe Ellis and Shannon Hobbs earned the Nomads a hard-fought 2-0 victory over Jordan Hadaway’s side in November’s reverse league fixture.

Third-place Felinheli will hope to continue their recent impressive form when they travel to Airbus UK Broughton.

Aaron Jones-Evans’ side have secured back-to-back victories over NFA and Connah’s Quay Nomads and have only lost two of their six league matches this season.

Airbus earned a goalless draw against Rhyl 1879 last weekend to climb off the bottom of the table and the Wingmakers will now go in search of only their second league win of the campaign.

The two sides have already met twice so far this season, with Felinheli triumphing on both occasions – 6-2 in the Genero Adran Trophy and 4-0 in the Genero Adran North.

NFA slipped to the bottom of the table after their game against Connah’s Quay Nomads was postponed last weekend, so they will aim to move away from danger away at Bangor.

Niall McGuinness’ side have just four points from seven matches, but are the fourth-highest scorers in the division with 10 goals to their name.

Fifth-place Bangor are three points better off having enjoyed a resurgence of late, picking up seven points from their last three games.

The two sides traded blows three times last season, with NFA prevailing 2-1 in the Bute Energy Welsh Cup and Bangor earning 5-2 and 2-1 victories in the NWWFL.
