Pontypridd United made a winning start to their Genero Adran South campaign as Ruby James’ brace inspired the Dragons to a 3-1 comeback victory away to newly-promoted Penybont.
Bont were in front at the interval thanks to Casey Daniels’ seventh-minute opener, but a calmly converted penalty from Lauren Payne two minutes into the second half levelled the contest.
James completed the turnround for Ponty four minutes later as she finished from Nicole Fenton’s cross, before Fenton again provided the assist for James to clinch the win in the 73rd minute.
Jade Crofts starred for Cwmbran Celtic again as her brace secured a 2-1 win away to Llanelli Town.
Crofts gave Celtic a dream start to the league campaign as she slotted past Celyn Barnett with barely a minute on the clock.
The Reds found their equaliser in the 29th minute through Stacey Webber, who headed home from Nadia Phillips’ cross, but Crofts restored Celtic’s lead two minutes into the second half with another composed finish for his sixth goal in three games this season.
Last season’s runners-up Cascade were victorious in their opening fixture as Olivia Townsend’s first-half goal earned a 1-0 home win over Swansea University.
Summer signing Townsend finished past Georgia Tarullo on 29 minutes for her second goal of the season, as Swansea Uni lost for the first time in 2024/25.
