Genero Adran Trophy round-up | Aberystwyth Town complete semi-final lineup

Aberystwyth Town secured the final spot in the Genero Adran Trophy semi-finals with a 4-0 victory over Genero Adran North outlet Felinheli at Treborth Playing Fields.

The Seasiders wasted no time to break through the Felinheli backline as Niamh Duggan’s defence-splitting pass allowed Gwen Jones to send a delightful chip over Catrin Beech to open the scoring after just eight minutes.

Duggan was involved once again as the visitors doubled their lead in the 20th minute, setting up Rebecca Mathias, captain for the afternoon, who fired home from close range.

Gwen Jones scored her second of the afternoon before half-time and it was the pick of the game’s goals as she sent a superb shot into the top left corner, leaving Beech with no chance.

The fourth and final goal came ten minutes from time as Bethan Roberts scored just her second goal of the season to round off a comfortable afternoon for Aber.

Gari Lewis’ side travel to Cardiff City in the semi-finals on Sunday 25 February, while The New Saints host Swansea City in the other tie.
