2024/25 JD Cymru Leagues award winners

Rhys Hughes of the Connah's Quay Nomads at the FAW National League Awards after winning the JD Cymru Leagues Premier Player of the Season

The 2025 FAW National League Awards in association with Morgans Consult took place in Cardiff on Saturday night, with players and managers recognised across the JD Cymru Leagues.

Find out the winners below, decided by a public vote combined with an independent panel.

JD Cymru Premier Player of the Season – Rhys Hughes (Connah’s Quay Nomads)

The former Cymru U21 international joined the Nomads from Tranmere Rovers in the summer and featured in every league fixture, scoring 15 goals in the process. It has been an impressive debut season for the 23-year old in the domestic top-flight, with his side also reaching the JD Welsh Cup Final.

JD Cymru Premier Manager of the Season – Craig Harrison (The New Saints)

While a historic first ever League Phase campaign in the UEFA Conference League led to inconsistent results early in the season, The New Saints showed their emphatic quality after Christmas and secured their 17th league title by 14 points. Craig Harrison has built a side capable of fighting on multiple fronts as they went on to achieve a domestic treble for a record third time.

JD Cymru Premier Young Player of the Season – Louis Lloyd (Caernarfon Town)

The 21-year old was the shining light for Caernarfon Town as they achieved a joint record fourth-place finish in the JD Cymru Premier and reached the European Play-Off final. Lloyd scored five goals in the final four games of the regular season to share the golden boot with a tally of 16, before netting another four goals in the 5-2 Play-Off quarter-final victory over Barry Town United.

JD Cymru North Player of the Season – Sam Hart (Colwyn Bay)

The captain has been a vital part of Colwyn Bay’s success this season and proved to be a natural leader in taking the side back to the JD Cymru Premier just one season after their relegation from the top-flight. In 25 league games, Hart helped the Seagulls keep a league-high 13 clean sheets and registered 10 assists.

JD Cymru North Manager of the Season – Michael Wilde (Colwyn Bay)

A 4-0 home defeat to Bangor 1876 on the opening day of the season may have led Michael Wilde to question if he was cut out for management, but his Colwyn Bay side were not beaten in the league after that as they stormed to the league title with 81 points to secure an immediate return to the JD Cymru Premier.

JD Cymru North Young Player of the Season – Kaiden Cooke (Airbus UK Broughton)

The teenager scored seven goals in 28 JD Cymru North games for Airbus UK Broughton during the season and established himself as an important part of Mark Allen’s side. Still only 18, Cooke will no doubt have a key role to play in their title challenge next season.

JD Cymru South Player of the Season – Liam Eason (Llanelli Town)

The striker has enjoyed a superb individual season for Pontypridd United and Llanelli Town, scoring consistently for both clubs. A January move to Llanelli Town saw the 27-year old score 11 goals to help his team to the JD Cymru South title and take his season tally to 27 in 29 games and with it claim the Golden Boot.

JD Cymru South Manager of the Season – Mark Dunford (Trethomas Bluebirds)

Despite only being promoted to the JD Cymru South last summer, Trethomas Bluebirds made a huge impression and remained in the title race with just two games remaining. Mark Dunford’s side made their intentions clear by winning their first four games and suffered just two defeats after the end of November.

JD Cymru South Young Player of the Season – Ethan Edwards (Trethomas Bluebirds)

The 22-year old was a creative force for Trethomas Bluebirds throughout the campaign, registering nine assists to compliment his nine league goals as his side claimed the runners-up position. The winger has followed manager Mark Dunford to Pontypridd United this summer and the pair will look to compete at the top end of the table again.

Special Recognition Award – Cheryl Foster

Earlier this year, Foster brought the curtain down on a playing and refereeing career that broke down boundaries and made history in both the Welsh domestic game and on the international stage. Now overseeing refereeing pathways with the English FA, Foster’s achievements were celebrated with this award.
