Who approved sin bins
The FAW’s Community Game Board is made up of representatives democratically elected by football clubs from each of the six Area Associations in Wales to make national decisions on grassroots football.
Following the evidence gathered during the Sin Bin Trial in 23/24, the Community Game Board voted in favour of introducing Sin Bins to senior & youth grassroots football throughout Wales
Breakdown of Sin Bins Process
On-pitch player commits Dissent Offence e.g. dissent by word (verbal) or by action (physical) e.g. kicking the ball away in frustration or sarcastic clapping.
Referee shows yellow card and points towards player’s team’s technical area and informs player he/she is now in sin bin.
Player remains off the pitch for ten minutes of playing time.
At the end of the ten minutes of playing time, the referee chooses when the player can return to play. The player can only return to play during a stoppage in play.
