Where is the Sin bin?

How long is the Sin Bin?
View DetailsClose Details- Time Period in Sin Bin is:
- 10 Minutes playing time for all matches of 90 minutes
- 8 Minutes playing time for all matches of 80 minutes
- The moment a player has been told he/she will be sent to the Sin Bin following his/her Dissent offence, the player is technically in the Sin Bin
- Time Period starts when play restarts
- Referee includes any lost playing time
When can a player return to play?
View DetailsClose Details- Referee has the final decision on when the temporarily dismissed player can return to play.
- A player can only return to play during a stoppage in play and on the Referee’s signal.
- A Player in the Sin Bin cannot be substituted until the period has expired and not at all if all substitutions have been used.
How do cards accumulate?

- One Non-Dissent Caution = Normal Yellow Card
- Any combination of two Cautions (Dissent or Non-Dissent) = Red Card
What if a player commits another offence while in the Sin Bin?
View DetailsClose Details- If a temporarily dismissed player commits another Yellow Card Offence or Red Card offence during the sin bin period they cannot take any further part in the game and cannot be substituted
- The player will be shown either two yellows and a red card or a straight red card depending on the offence
What happens if a team go down to less than 7 players as a result of a temporary dismissal?

Can a Goalkeeper be Sin Binned?
View DetailsClose Details- The goalkeeper can be sent to the Sin Bin if they commit an offence of Dissent by word or action.
- Goalkeepers are not treated differently to any other player in regards to the Sin Bin.
What happens if I caution an unused Subtitute or subtituted player for dissent?
View DetailsClose DetailsThe substitute will be issued a YELLOW CARD & will be reported as a C2 caution for Dissent. No Sin Bin.
Sin Bins only apply to players while actively taking part in the game on-pitch.
What happens if I caution a member of coaching staff for dissent?

What about half-time, extra-time and penalties?
View DetailsClose DetailsIf the Sin Bin period has not expired at the end of the 1st half, it continues during the 2nd half. The same applies to extra-time.
If the Sin Bin period has not expired at the end of Extra Time and there are kicks from the penalty mark, a temporarily dismissed player can participate in penalty kicks.
Can a temporarily dismissed player warm-up?
View DetailsClose DetailsYes – the Player may warm up in the same place as their team’s substitutes but only 3 players may warm up at the same time. The player (who is technically in the Sin bin) must take the place of one of the substitutes.
What if there is an injury during the temporary dismissal time period?
View DetailsClose DetailsReferee includes any lost time. If the referee stops their watch during any player’s 10-minute period in the sin bin, the referee will include any lost time in the Sin Bin period. Remember it is playing time.
How are Sin Bins reported?

Sin Bins will contribute to suspensions the same as all cautions
