Genero Adran North round-up: Connah’s Quay Nomads secure title with win over rivals

Connah’s Quay Nomads secured the Genero Adran North title following a 2-0 home win over Flint Town United.

The Nomads went into the game knowing that victory would clinch top spot and they wasted no time as Phoebe Ellis fired home the opener after just five minutes.

Flint goalkeeper Shaunacy Kennedy was sent off on 28 minutes for handling the ball outside the area and Mel Barlow scored from the resulting free-kick to double the Nomads’ advantage.

With a player advantage, Jordan Parry’s side were able to comfortably see out victory in the second half and claim the title for the second consecutive season.

The Nomads’ victory ended Llanfair United’s title challenge, but Lucie Gwilt’s side nonetheless ran out 3-0 winners over Berriew at Mount Field.

Sophie Cook opened the scoring for the hosts in the 21st minute, before making it a brace for herself midway through the second half.

Harriet Davies, who had set up Cook’s first goal, completed the scoring in the closing stages and Llanfair now appear nailed on for a second-place finish – matching their achievement from last season.

Llandudno earned only their second league victory of the season as they triumphed 2-1 over bottom-of-the-table Bangor at the Go Goodwins Stadium.

Following a goalless first half, Maddie Williams broke the deadlock for Llandudno three minutes into the second period and then doubled the advantage soon after the hour mark.

A late own goal from Jasmin Dutton got Bangor on the scoresheet, but it proved only to be a consolation as Llandudno secured the three points and climbed to fifth in the table.
