Saltney Town FC

Saltney Town reached out to the Cymru Football Foundation to seek support with reducing vandalism and anti-social behaviour at their home ground in Flintshire.

Due to free public access to their main football pitches, they – along with stands and dugouts – suffered regular vandalism, resulting in multiple matchdays and training sessions being postponed and additional outgoings costs to seek repairs.

Our Fit-For-Future Equipment Fund allowed the club to receive a grant of just over £11,000 to install security fencing around the parameter of the facility to help reduce anti-social behaviour in the area, as well as allow the club to become more financially sustainable. The new fencing does still allow pedestrian, disability, and vehicle access upon request.

After experiencing many years of repeated vandalism to our stand and playing surfaces, Saltney Town Football Club are really grateful to the Cymru Football Foundation for providing financial support to enable the club to erect fencing to safeguard the club’s property going forward.

This new project has lifted the spirits of everyone involved within the club and we look forward to taking the step up to the next level including the newly formed girls’ team and then from our under 8s right up to the senior first team.
