The Cymru Football Foundation has opened our latest Fit-For-Future Facilities-funded project thanks to support from UK Government.
The CFF – backed by UK Government – has invested just over £400,000 into the redevelopment of the changing rooms and addition of a community space at Llangynwyd Playing Fields, alongside additional support from Bridgend County Borough Council.
Thanks to our grant, the facility has been refurbished and extended to cater for senior and junior women and girls’ teams as well as creating a safe environment for members of the community to utilise.
This new space will also allow the club to become stronger and more sustainable, alongside attracting a host of new female players – two key priorities for the CFF.

Chairman at Llangynwyd Rangers BGCW, Mark Jenkins said:
“We’re so grateful for the support of the CFF, Bridgend County Borough Council and everyone involved with this project – to finally see the finished product is amazing and will be for years to come.
“Having facilities like this will play a huge part in supporting Llangynwyd Rangers to grow as a club and we’ve already been able to welcome a huge number of female players as a result of this investment and long may it continue.”
Director at the Cymru Football Foundation, Aled Lewis said:
“The Cymru Football Foundation is committed to investing in facilities that inspire communities. This redevelopment will enable more players to play, improve the experiences of current players and enable the club to welcome new players too.
“A huge thank you to our partners, UK Government, and the local authority in supporting the development of such a high-quality facility.
“Thanks to the support of our partners, we’re making huge strides in improving football facilities in Wales on and off the pitch.”
The CFF supports the development of football through investment and guidance as it delivers the Football Association of Wales’ commitment to develop inspirational fit-for-future football facilities that will improve and grow Welsh football both on and off the pitch.
Since February 2022, the CFF has invested over £17 million into supporting fit-for-future facilities across the country to inspire communities.
