Delivering Online Coaching
Please show your support for FAW Safeguarding by reading and understanding the information below.
If you plan to record or livestream sessions via an online platform, you need to assess any risks and take appropriate actions to minimise harm.
- Please consider where the recording is taking place i.e. you should be in a neutral environment where nothing inappropriate can be seen or heard in the background.
- All personnel involved with delivering sessions should have a current and valid DBS check via the FAW.
- Also please make sure that the platform you are using is suitable for the age group concerned and adheres to necessary privacy and confidentiality measures. For further guidance on this please visit https://www.net-aware.org.uk/
- All children within the age group should be offered the opportunity to participate, and written consent must be obtained from parents/guardians prior to them taking part.
- Please do not offer 1-2-1 sessions via an online platform and ensure that you are not alone on a call with a child.
- Use parents/guardians email addresses and phone numbers to communicate with children.
- Parents/guardians should be provided with contact details for the Club Safeguarding Officer should they wish to discuss any concerns or report any issues.
- Coaches and Players will need to adhere to their respective Codes of Conduct.
- Remind personnel of the need to adhere to the Safeguarding Policy, Practices and Procedures and ensure that they know how to raise a concern.
- All parties will need to adhere to the FAW’s Communication Guidelines.
- If clubs wish to post training schedules for children to follow at home, this will need to be carefully managed and thoroughly discussed with parents/guardians to ensure that skills and techniques are being practiced correctly to avoid risk of injury.
