Located in Gwynedd, Bala Town FC applied to the Cymru Football Foundation’s Fit-For-Future Facilities Fund with the aim of considerably reducing the club’s running costs through upgrading their floodlights.
Our Fit-For-Future Facilities Fund allows the club to receive a grant of just under £40,000 to upgrade their existing halogen bulbs to LED – providing more long-term environmental and financial sustainability, giving the club the opportunity to re-invest their savings into further facility improvement at Maes Tegid.
Bala also ground-share with a number of local grassroots clubs including Ruthin Town and Denbigh Town, meaning the investment will also provide benefits to the local community.
The CFF’s Fit-For-Future Facilities Fund ties into the FAW’s overall Sustainability Strategy, to further reduce the country’s carbon footprint and reduce energy costs.
Our Fit-For-Future Facilities fund is currently open and clubs, local authorities and charitable organisations can apply by clicking here.
