FAW National Coaches Conference 2024

Cymru manager Rhian Wilkinson will join Thierry Henry, Russel Martin and Gaël Clichy at the FAW National Coaches Conference 2024, which takes place on 25 and 26 May 2024. This coaching showpiece is both an in-person and an online event for internationally based coaches.

Wilkinson, who was unveiled as Cymru boss in February, is a current FAW UEFA Pro Licence coach and will deliver a session at the conference, which will be held at the Celtic Manor and Dragon Park, Newport.

The FAW National Coaches Conference, is an annual event which attracts the biggest names in the game to discuss new ideas, trends and innovations in football coaching and will be led by the FAW’s Chief Football Officer and Technical Director, Dr David Adams. 

The two-day event, which combines entertaining and insightful theory lectures with world class practical sessions, also serves as revalidation for UEFA Qualified Coaches.

The FAW National Coaches Conference, will also be offered to an international audience with online access to all of the information. 

The online offer is open to international coaches who need to revalidate their qualification and are based outside of the UK.

The National Coaching Conference website will be pre-loaded with content and is available from 25 May and all live content from the weekend will be recorded and made available post conference and available to review until the 30 June.

Wilkinson is joined on the early list of confirmed speakers by France U21 boss Henry, who completed his UEFA Pro Licence with the FAW in 2018, and his assistant Gael Clichy, who is a current FAW UEFA Pro Licence candidate.

Southampton boss Russell Martin has taken time out of his pursuit for English Premier League promotion with Southampton to confirm his place in the exciting line-up for the event titled ‘In Pursuit of Excellence: Fostering a Positive Culture to Drive High Performance’.

The 2024 conference will see hundreds of coaches, from across Wales and beyond, gather to discuss the latest innovations and trends in football coaching.
