What is the CLWB PAWB Summit?

The Clwb PAWB Summit will take place during the evenings of Monday 12th and 19th of May 2025 and will provide an opportunity for PAWB Equality Champions, Coaches, Officials and Volunteers to develop their understanding of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) and connect with others who are passionate about driving change in football.

What to Expect

Experts in EDI will deliver a range of workshops throughout the day, which complements our ongoing PAWB Education Programme.

The webinar sessions will feature representatives who are leading the way in creating an inclusive environment, delivering football opportunities for everyone across Wales.

Guest speakers will showcase their Club initiatives, share their experiences and provide practical tips through panel discussions and presentations.

Session Information

Workshop 1 – Community Mapping & Engagement

Understanding and connecting with your local community is key to building a thriving, inclusive football environment. This interactive session will guide you through the principles of community mapping, helping you identify the people, groups, and organisations around you.

We’ll explore how football can unite diverse communities, promote belonging, and open up new opportunities through meaningful, long-term engagement. Whether you’re looking to grow your membership, attract new volunteers, or strengthen your club’s local presence, this session will offer practical tools and inspiration to help you build strong relationships, rooted in trust, collaboration and shared ambition.

The Inclusion Club (Webinar)

“The Inclusion Club” webinar will feature two pioneering football clubs that are setting the standard for inclusion in football.

Speakers will share their practical approaches to creating an inclusive environment within their Club and participants will gain valuable insights into how these Clubs are leading the way by ensuring everyone has an opportunity and feels welcome in their community.

Workshop 2 – Race Awareness in Football

This powerful and reflective session is designed to deepen understanding of race, racism, and their impact within the football community and beyond. Through honest discussion and real-life context, we will explore how racism manifests in modern-day football and how it connects to wider societal issues and historical inequalities.

Participants will gain insights into the lived experiences of people from ethnically diverse communities and reflect on the role we all play in creating a more inclusive environment. The session will focus on practical steps we can take individually and collectively to challenge racism, promote race equity, and move towards lasting racial equality across Welsh football.

Panel Discussion – Creating a Lasting Legacy for HER (Webinar)

As Wales prepares to play its part in the UEFA Women’s EURO 2025, this panel discussion will explore how we can harness the power of the tournament to drive lasting change for women and girls in football. Grounded in the FAW’s Our Wales – FOR HER strategy, the conversation will spotlight opportunities to increase participation, representation, and visibility of women and girls both on and off the pitch. Join our panel of experts and changemakers as they share insights, challenges, and aspirations for building a more equal and inclusive future for the women’s game in Wales and beyond.

Workshop 3 – Championing Neuroinclusive Practice in Football

This session offers an introduction to neurodiversity and explores how football clubs, coaches, and volunteers can create more inclusive environments for neurodivergent individuals. We’ll look at the diversity of how people think, learn, and experience the world, and provide practical ideas to help make your Club along with your sessions more accessible and supportive.

From communication tips to small adjustments that can make a big difference, this session will equip you with the tools and confidence to champion neuro-inclusion in your club ensuring football truly is a game for everyone.

Workshop 4 – Engaging with Ethnically Diverse Women and Girls in Football

This session will explore how we can break down barriers and create more welcoming, inclusive spaces for ethnically diverse women and girls across all areas of the game. Through real-life experiences, practical examples, and open discussion, we’ll look at what meaningful engagement looks like and how clubs, coaches, and volunteers can take action to ensure football truly reflects the communities it serves. Join us to learn, share, and be inspired to drive positive change at every level.
