CLWB PAWB Summit
What is the CLWB PAWB Summit?
The Clwb PAWB Summit will take place during the evenings of Tuesday 23rd and Wednesday 24th of July 2024 and will provide an opportunity for PAWB Equality Champions, Coaches, Officials and Volunteers to develop their understanding of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) and connect with others who are passionate about driving change in football.
What to Expect
A range of workshops will be delivered by experts in EDI throughout the day, which complements our ongoing PAWB Education Programme.
The webinar sessions will feature representatives who are leading the way in creating an inclusive environment, delivering football opportunities for everyone across Wales.
Guest speakers will showcase their Club initiatives, share their experiences and provide practical tips through panel discussions and presentations.

Session Information
Being a Change Maker – Workshop 1
Every one of us holds the potential to be a changemaker. While anyone can take on this role, understanding the steps to effectively make change can be challenging. Essential to being a changemaker is the ability to challenge others, speak out, and gain support from influential individuals. This is crucial for embedding equality, diversity, and inclusion into the core values and daily operations of your club or organisation.
This workshop will equip you with the knowledge, skills, and resources needed to drive meaningful change within your community.

The Inclusion Club – Webinar
“The Inclusion Club” webinar will feature two pioneering football clubs that are setting the standard for inclusion in football.
Speakers will share their practical approaches to creating an inclusive environment within their Club and participants will gain valuable insights into how these Clubs are leading the way by ensuring everyone has an opportunity and feels welcome in their community.

Inclusive Communications – Workshop 2
Effective communication is key to fostering an inclusive environment within football. This workshop is designed to help you make your communications more accessible and inclusive to help everyone understand and be understood.
During this workshop, you’ll learn practical ways to ensure that your communications are accessible to all members of your community. We will cover best practices for accessible digital communication, and how to create an environment where everyone feels heard and valued.
By the end of this session, you will have the tools and knowledge to enhance your club’s communication efforts, ensuring they promote equality, diversity, and inclusion in every interaction.

Football as a Vehicle for Change (Panel Discussion) – Webinar
An engaging panel discussion exploring the powerful role football can play in driving social change. Our panel of experts will discuss how football can address various social issues, promote cohesion, challenge discrimination, and unite communities. This webinar will provide valuable insights into real-world examples and strategies you can adopt to make a positive impact both on and off the field. Be part of the movement to use football as a force for good in shifting attitudes and fostering a more equitable and inclusive society.
Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and engage in meaningful dialogue about how football can serve as a catalyst for social transformation.

Religious & Cultural Inclusion in Football – Workshop 3
As football increasingly represents all communities across Wales, it’s more important than ever for Clubs to create an inclusive environment, especially for members from diverse religious and cultural backgrounds. This workshop aims to raise awareness of key religious and cultural practices and provide practical strategies for Clubs to provide support for this community.
Through interactive discussions and real-world examples, participants will learn how to implement inclusive practices that ensure everyone feels supported and included enabling all individuals to fully participate and excel.

Giving Young People a Voice in Football – Workshop 4
We must empower the next generation to help shape the future of football. This workshop will provide participants with strategies to adopt a rights-based approach at their Club, ensuring young people are heard and involved in decision-making processes. This session will provide practical methods for Clubs to actively engage with their young people to gather their feedback and incorporate their ideas into Club operations.
By creating opportunities for young people’s voices to be heard and perspectives valued, you can create a Club that truly reflects the needs and aspirations of its younger members.
