Breaking Down Financial Barriers

Supporting Club Members who require financial support is essential for addressing financial barriers so that no one is excluded from participating at your Club.

There are some ways to provide support for individuals and families to break down financial barriers and provide equal opportunity.

These can include:

  • Flexible fees – can you offer flexible payment options for those who may not be able to pay membership or other fees upfront? Could you provide a subsidised fee?
  • Equipment & kit share scheme – Develop an equipment or kit recycle scheme between members e.g boot donation.
  • Helping to arrange a car share option for those who do no have access to transport.

PAWB Fund

Individuals may be eligible for support through the FAW’s PAWB Fund. This fund can be applied for, on behalf of any young player, to support and assist them with accessing football opportunities and/or equipment.

The application is open to 5 – 18 year-olds living in Wales and will be decided by a national panel that will use the application information to assess each case. The fund will support children and families in most need on an annual basis to ensure they can access regular football opportunities.
