PAWB Mentoring Programme

Kickstart Your Journey into Football through the PAWB Mentoring Programme.

The Football Association of Wales is excited to launch year 2 of the PAWB Mentoring Programme! This entry-level programme is designed to support and inspire individuals from Black, Asian, Mixed-Heritage and Minority Ethnic backgrounds who are interested in exploring opportunities within football.

If you’re passionate about football, this programme is your first stepping stone into a role in football. No previous experience is needed, just enthusiasm and the desire to learn and grow.

What’s Involved?

Starting in January 2026 and running for 9 months, the PAWB Mentoring Programme will give you:

A personal mentor to guide and support you based on your goals and aspirations.
Opportunities to network and learn from industry professionals, including senior leaders from across the game.
Engaging in in-person and online workshops to develop key skills.
Shadowing experiences with FAW staff to see the game in action behind the scenes.
Panel discussions featuring inspiring stories and advice from football professionals.
This programme is all about helping you build confidence, develop your skills, and gain a deeper understanding of what it takes to progress in football.

Programme session dates

Day 1 (in-person) – 22nd January 2026 – 9:30 AM -5:00 PM – Dragon Park, Newport.
Day 2 (Online) – 6th May 2026 – 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM.
Day 3 (in-person) – 16th September 2026 – 9:30 AM – 5:00 PM – Dragon Park, Newport.
Monthly 1-2-1 session with mentor – dates TBC.

The PAWB Mentoring Programme is Free to access.
The deadline for applicants is on Sunday, 14th December 2025. Applications received after this date will not be considered. You will be notified about the outcome of your application by 19th December 2025.
Please note that the programme is only open to individuals aged 18 and above of all genders, from Black, Asian, Mixed-Heritage and Minority Ethnic backgrounds.
Participants should have an interest in becoming involved in football in Wales or already be involved in any role throughout the game at any level.
