October marks Show Racism the Red Card Month of Action. Football Clubs across Wales and the Football Association of Wales (FAW) will be showing support for the Show Racism the Red Card (SRtRC) Month of Action (MOA) throughout the month.
The Month of Action each year marks a pivotal point in the footballing calendar where education and awareness around racism within the game is further highlighted. The FAW and SRtRC recognise that sport can be used as a vehicle to deliver Anti-Racist messaging throughout communities across Wales, working toward a completely Anti-Racist Wales by 2030.
The Month of Action is part of a wider programme funded by the FAW which will see Clubs across the country hosting match actions, with players of both teams uniting together to stand against racism.
In addition to domestic and grassroots Clubs showing their support on and off the pitch, the Cymru National teams will be showing racism the red card during their fixtures throughout October.
FAW Equality, Diversity, Inclusion & Sustainability Executive, Carys Ingram said: “The Month of Action is a vital reminder that football has the power to unite communities and drive meaningful change.
“At the FAW, we are proud to stand alongside Show Racism the Red Card in challenging discrimination and promoting inclusion at every level of the game. Our commitment goes beyond words, it’s about creating lasting impact, ensuring that football in Wales is a safe and welcoming space for everyone.”
