FAW to celebrate Pride Month and join Pride Cymru 2026

The Football Association of Wales (FAW) is proud to mark Pride Month this June by celebrating the LGBTQ+ community across Welsh football and reaffirming our commitment to creating a game where everyone feels welcome, represented and valued.

Pride Month is an important opportunity to celebrate visibility, solidarity and community, while recognising the ongoing work needed to ensure football is a space where everyone can belong. At the FAW, we believe football should be for all, and we remain committed to championing inclusion at every level of the game.

As part of our Pride Month celebrations, the FAW will once again join members of The Rainbow Wall and the wider LGBTQ+ community at Pride Cymru 2026, taking place in Cardiff on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 June.

Supporters, players, staff and allies are invited to stand together as part of both the Pride Cymru march and at the FAW stall across the weekend, celebrating the power of football to unite communities and amplify LGBTQ+ voices within the game.

Pride Month will also be marked on the pitch as Cymru’s FIFA Women’s World Cup Qualifier against Czechia at Cardiff City Stadium on Tuesday 9 June will be a dedicated Pride Match, celebrating inclusion and providing an opportunity to showcase the importance of LGBTQ+ visibility in football.

The FAW is also encouraging members of both The Red Wall and The Rainbow Wall to share their personal Pride stories as part of our digital story wall. These stories help highlight the experiences, memories and journeys of LGBTQ+ supporters and allies within Welsh football, celebrating the role football plays in building connection and community. Supporters can share their story here.

The Rainbow Wall continues to play a vital role in helping shape a more inclusive future for Welsh football. The supporter group provides a visible and welcoming space for LGBTQ+ fans and allies, helping ensure everyone can feel part of the Cymru football family.

If you would like to show your support and become part of this growing community, we encourage supporters to sign up to become a Rainbow Wall member and join us in championing equality, visibility and belonging across Welsh football.

Together, this Pride Month, we celebrate our diverse football community and continue working towards a game where everyone feels they belong.
