CORE Cymru, the FAW’s Centre of Refereeing Excellence, is an elite referee development programme which educates selected candidates in the Welsh Way of Refereeing to prepare them for potential promotion to the JD Cymru Leagues.

The most promising grassroots referees in Wales will be chosen to participate in several training sessions delivered by the FAW’s CORE Coaches at elite facilities in Cymru. The officials will also receive high-quality matchday coaching and observation opportunities during their journey.

The FAW’s Values of Respect, Excellence and Family will be instilled in the match officials throughout their time on CORE, preparing them for the challenges of elite refereeing.
