Match Day Travel

The FAW encourages all fans to embrace sustainable travel options when heading to the match, from public transport to carpooling or cycling. Together, we can reduce our environmental impact.

Wrexham is accessible via train. From Wrexham General Train station, the stadium is only a short walk. 

If you are travelling to the ground by car, take the A483 from Chester or Oswestry to Wrexham. Exit at the ‘Mold’ junction and then follow signs for ‘Town Centre’ and the Racecourse Ground will come quickly into view.

Parking is extremely limited at the ground, we therefore ask you to plan your journey well in advance of the game if you are travelling by car.

Stadium Rules

Even if you are a regular visitor to Y Cae Ras, keep in mind that the stadium may operate differently for Welsh internationals and rules may be different from what you are used to.

Large bags won’t be allowed into the stadium, small bags may be permitted as long as they are able to fit under your seat.

Remember that professional cameras and cane umbrellas are not permitted inside the stadium. However, you can bring a small, fully collapsible umbrella.

Y Cae Ras is a smoke free venue. Therefore smoking, e-cigarettes and heat-not-burn tobacco products are not allowed.

The Fanzone, located at the Crispin Lane end of Y Cae Ras will include matchday entertainment ranging from live bands to bracelet making stations and refreshments.

Food & Beverage

Y Cae Ras has food and beverage options to suit most culinary requirements. If you have any allergy concerns, please speak to a member of staff at the kiosk.

There are alcoholic and non-alcoholic options available to supporters, however please note that alcoholic beverages cannot be taken up to your seat or drunk in view of the field of play. This is in accordance with the UK Sporting Events (Control of Alcohol etc.) Act 1985.

The Football Association of Wales welcomes everyone and we constantly strive to ensure that at our matches there is a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere where all fans can come to enjoy watching football in a safe, secure and welcoming environment and feel that they belong as part of the Red Wall.

While promoting inclusion and diversity within the stadium, we applaud and encourage passionate support. However, we do not tolerate discrimination, abuse, foul and abusive language or anti-social and threatening behaviour.

If supporters experience any form of anti-social behaviour, abuse or discrimination inside the stadium please help us to eliminate it by reporting any discrimination or abuse by alerting it to your nearest steward.

Pyrotechnic Warning

There is no safe use of pyrotechnics in spectator areas at football events with their use having many health risks and dangers such as loss of sight, limb or digit removal due to their explosive power.

Being in possession of a pyrotechnic device at a football match or attempting to bring such a device into a football stadium, is a criminal offence under the Sporting Events Act 1985. Any person committing such an offence faces an FA Wales ban, probable arrest and a minimum 3-year Football Banning Order.  

Additionally, should persons be identified using pyrotechnics in places of public assembly away from and en route to the stadium, they can be issued with section 34 notices and be instructed to leave the area with details passed to the FAW, Y Cae Ras and the authorities. This may result in entry to the stadium being denied.

Accessibility and Inclusion Information

Audio Descriptive Commentary

The audio description commentary service will be available at the Y Cae Ras for the upcoming Cymru International match.  

The free-to-use service for blind and vision-impaired spectators will be provided by Alan March Sport Ltd and will be available to fans with trained audio describers keeping up with play to the second to ensure listeners know exactly where the ball is and what is happening on the pitch.

To register your interest and book a receiver for the forthcoming matches, email PAWB@FAW.Cymru

You will need to provide your name, phone number and ticket information (Stand, block, row and seat) and your receiver will be delivered by a steward prior to kick off.

It will be possible to request a receiver on the day by speaking to a steward at the stadium. Please note receivers are subject to availability. Users are required to bring their own headphones to ensure both comfort and hygiene.

Sensory Packs

Fans with sensory needs can apply for a free FAW Sensory Pack. The packs have been designed to help fans, particularly those with autism, who attend matches, to enhance the matchday experience, making it more comfortable and enjoyable. Each pack is presented in an official Cymru drawstring bag and contains a disability awareness lanyard, as well as branded noise-cancelling headphones, a football fidget spinner, a poppet sensory keyring, a Cymru football soft stress ball and an activity pack.

All sensory packs will need to be pre-booked and are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Multi-Faith Prayer & Meditation Room

A Multi-Faith Prayer & Meditation Room is available to supporters who require a quiet space.

Any supporters who would like to access the room can contact PAWB@FAW.Cymru or speak to your nearest steward on the night who will help to escort supporters to the room and assist them back to their seats.

Accessibility for Disabled Supporters

We understand and recognise that disabled supporters may need assistance when visiting Y Cae Ras to enjoy their experience. Therefore, we offer a number of reasonable adjustments based on individual needs.

Wheelchair Users

The accessible seating areas are located pitch side in the Macron stand for both home and away supporters, a platform at height in this area is also available for six wheelchair spaces, with companions. Access to the platform is via the reception entrance to the Macron Stand where there is a lift to gain access to the platform.

There is also a pitch-level platform available, with four wheelchair spaces and provision for companions beside, in the WREXRENT Stand.

There are 32 wheelchair spaces available and so please note that availability is limited.

Ambulant Supporters

General match seating is available for Ambulant Disabled supporters in accessible areas of the Stadium.

We have a number of easy-access seats for supporters to use with no or minimal stepped access. These are close to accessible amenities and entrances.

Please advise the ticket office at the time of booking your match tickets.

Food concession stand access

A refreshment area with low level counter is by the gate 12 entrance and in the middle of the concourse there is a further refreshment area with both higher & lowered counters for easy access, all with steward assistance. The STōK Cold Brew Coffee Stand concourse also features lowered counters throughout

Deaf or Hard of Hearing Supporters

A hearing loop is available in the Club Shop and in the Centenary Club at the bar. The 1864 Suite and Bamford’s Suite feature hearing room loops for all hospitality guests in these areas.

Supporters with Learning Difficulties

Supporters with learning difficulties can normally be accommodated within any area of the stadium.  If a person with a learning difficulty feels that seating in the stand may not be suitable for them, please contact the FAW’s Disabled Access Officer to discuss your requirements further.

Accessible Toilets

There are two accessible toilets in the Macron Stand concourse, one as you enter via gate 12 and one the opposite end of the concourse with alarm cords in place.

There is also an accessible toilet on Floor 1 of the 1864 Suite, inside, which can be accessed via the Macron Stand lift for anybody using the suite or the accessible viewing platform.

A new accessible toilet is now available on the concourse of the WREXRENT Stand, while supporters in the Wrexham Lager Stand can use the accessible toilet located within the Centenary Club – please note, you do not need a Centenary Club pass to access this toilet but may need to inform the receptionist.

All accessible toilets must be unlocked with a radar key – please contact your nearest steward if you do not have your key with you.

Temporary Mobility Restrictions

Supporters suffering from temporary mobility restrictions (e.g. broken ankle) that could affect their access to the stadium or seating areas should contact the Disability Access Officer before the game to arrange alternative seating and/or access. Please note this is subject to availability.

FAQ

Is there a minimum age to attend the match?

There is no minimum age requirement for Welsh internationals matches at Y Cae Ras.

Do underage ticket holders need to be accompanied by an adult?

Yes, all ticket holders under 14 should be accompanied by an adult.

How early should I get to the stadium before the match?

We advise that you arrive at the stadium as soon as gates open.

Can I use any entrance at the stadium to get to my seat?

Please use the entrance stated on your ticket. This will be the entrance closest to your seat.

If I’m late to the match, can I still enter after kick-off?

Yes, you will be able to enter the stadium up until half-time.

Once I enter the stadium, can I leave and come back in?

No re-entry is permitted at Y Cae Ras.

What kind of flags and banners can I bring into the stadium?

Flags that are 2×1 meters in size will be allowed into the stadium, flags with offensive or political statements will not be permitted. Please see UEFA guidelines.

Are there restrictions on the jerseys I can wear for the match?

There are no restrictions on what you can wear, however we recommend that you come dressed in Cymru colours so that we are united as the Red Wall.

I need to bring an item from the prohibited list for medical reasons. Does it need to be requested in advance?

To avoid any complications at entry, it is advised that you let the FAW know if you require any medical items. Please email fans@faw.cymru detailing your medications.

What should I do if I have a problem with my mobile match tickets? Is there somewhere at the stadium that I can get help?

If you have a problem with your match tickets contact your nearest steward or go to the ticket office.

Is there anything to do at the stadium for non-ticket holders?

No – please avoid travelling to Y Cae Ras if you do not have a ticket to the match.

Is there a lost and found office at the stadium and what do I do if I lose or find something?

There is no formal lost and found, however lost items may be kept in storage at the stadium – please contact the stadium.

Are there phone charging stations in or around the stadium in case my phone runs out of battery?

No – there are no phone charging stations at the stadium, please ensure your phone is fully charged before travelling to the match. 

Are there toilets outside the stadium?

No – There are no toilets outside the stadium.

Is there Wi-Fi at the stadium?

There is no public Wi-Fi at the stadium, if you require internet access, please contact your nearest steward.

Will the stadium be covered if it rains?

The majority of Y Cae Ras is covered, however adverse weather conditions may affect spectators in the first few rows.

Do I need to bring cash? Are there cash machines near the stadium?

Y Cae Ras is cashless.

Any advice for fans attending the match with children or infants?

Supporters attending with young children and infants should buy tickets in the family stand and aim to arrive at the stadium as early as possible to avoid busy periods of entry. 

There are pre-match activities for children and concessions available in the concourse.
