Amar Cymru was founded to create a dedicated space for the Welsh-South Asian community to come together and support Welsh football. The idea stemmed from a desire to promote inclusivity and ensure that everyone feels represented and welcomed in the Welsh football community. Initially, the focus was on building a strong sense of community and providing a support network for fans.

Over time, our mission has evolved to include promoting diversity in sports, encouraging youth / Female participation, and working on community projects that use football as a tool for social change.

Launch and Evolution

Amar Cymru officially launched at a community event in Cardiff, where we brought together football enthusiasts from various backgrounds to celebrate our shared love for the game. Since then, we’ve organised numerous events, match viewings, and community outreach programs to engage with and support our members.
