Adran Leagues Referee Academy
The Adran Leagues Referee Academy is the Football Association of Wales’ dedicated referee development programme for women and girls.
Through FIFA funding, the Adran Leagues Referee Academy is a targeted initiative that recruits and develops referees to effectively service the rapidly growing women’s game with match officials.
The Academy provides bespoke training and networking open to all women and girls currently refereeing in Wales, including in-person and online development sessions as well as tickets to Cymru internationals and domestic showpiece finals.

The Adran North, South & U19s leagues will be utilised as a development platform for match officials as well as players with the FAW funding Assistant Referees’ match fees in these competitions.
Since the launch of the FAW’s Referee Recruitment & Retention Strategy in 2021 the number of women match officials in Wales has tripled, while the number of women representing Wales as international match officials has increased to a record five.
All current women and girls officiating in Wales will receive invitations to all Academy events throughout the season, while any women and girls thinking about refereeing can begin their refereeing journey at Become A Ref with the FAW Referee Award.
