Cymru’s Official Kit Supplier, adidas, has today officially revealed TRIONDA, the Official Match Football for the FIFA World Cup 2026™, which will be endorsed in Cymru’s upcoming FIFA World Cup Qualifiers this month.
Design Inspired by Unity Across Continents
Named TRIONDA – from Tri (three) and Onda (wave) – the ball’s red, green, and blue colour scheme pays tribute to this summer’s three host nations: Canada, Mexico, and the United States. The triangular motif at the centre of each panel symbolises the coming together of these countries to host the tournament for the first time.
Engineered for Elite Performance
TRIONDA introduces a new four-panel construction, designed to optimise flight stability and control. Deep seams and strategically placed debossed lines work in tandem with embossed icons to ensure consistent drag and balance – particularly beneficial in varying weather conditions.
The ball’s surface is engineered to provide enhanced grip during dribbling and striking, especially in wet or humid environments.
Smart Technology for the Modern Game
TRIONDA features the latest adidas Connected Ball Technology, now with a side-mounted 500Hz IMU motion sensor chip embedded within one of the panels. This innovation delivers real-time ball data to the VAR system, supporting faster and more accurate decisions on offsides, handballs, and other match-critical moments.
Developed in collaboration with Kinexon, the chip is balanced by counterweights in the remaining panels to maintain flight consistency.
