Cambrian United and The New Saints meet at Park Avenue in the semi-finals of the JD Welsh Cup.

The Sky Blues are the lowest ranked team left in the competition, where they are currently seventh following their win against Penrhiwceiber Rangers on Wednesday.

Cambrian and TNS last played each over six years ago. The men from the Rhondda inflicted an upset on the Saints in the Nathaniel MG Cup, beating them 2-1 following goals from Mark Crutch and Andre Griffiths in extra time.

Four players from that team that stunned Cambrian are at the club today, whilst Ryan Brobbel, Connor Roberts, Danny Redmond and Adrian Cieslewicz are all still at TNS.

It’s set to be a busy weekend at Park Avenue with three Welsh Cup matches in total taking place at the venue. Here is all you need to know about Cambrian United against The New Saints.

When does Cambrian v United v The New Saints take place?

They meet at Park Avenue in Aberystwyth on Sunday, March 16. Kick-off is at 12.45 (GMT).

Can I watch Cambrian v United v The New Saints on TV?

Cambrian United against The New Saints will be shown on S4C’s digital platforms. They have a streaming platform called S4C Clic, whilst the game will also be on Sgorio’s Facebook and YouTube channels. Commentary is available in both in English and in Welsh.

You can also keep up to date with the game by following it on the Cymru Football app which is available on both iOS and Android.

Highlights of the match along with the other semi-final between Connah’s Quay and Llanelli Town will be uploaded to S4C’s social media platforms, as well as being shown on their weekly television programme Sgorio.

S4C is on channel 104 on SkyFreesat and Virgin TV in Wales. In England, Scotland and Northern Ireland, S4C is on Sky 134, Freesat 120 and Virgin TV 164.

Ticket details

There will be no advance ticket sales for the semi-finals, with all tickets available to purchase on the gate – priced at £5 for adults and £2 for concessions (U16s, 65+, Students).

TNS’ women’s team are in action in the Bute Energy Welsh Cup against Cardiff City at 16.30 pm (GMT) and so this is an opportunity for a double-header. This entry fee will allow supporters access to both fixtures at Park Avenue on Sunday 16 March.

As for TNS fans, the club are running a free supporters’ coach to Park Avenue for the JD Welsh Cup and Bute Energy Welsh Cup semi-final doubleheader.

The coach will leave Park Hall Stadium at 10.00 (GMT) and will depart Aberystwyth at 18.45 (GMT) should the match finish after 90 minutes. Supporters interested in attending should contact Stadium & Commercial Manager Simon O’Reilly here.

For those who intend to travel to the match by alternative transport, The postcode for Park Avenue is Park Ave, Aberystwyth SY23 1PG. It is about a 10-15 minute walk from Aberystwyth train station.

Referee

Bryn Markham-Jones has been appointed as the referee for the fixture and he will be supported by Connor Thomas and Cilan Thomas as his two linesman whilst Nicholas Pratt is the fourth official.

Markham-Jones is a Cymru Premier official and this will be the fifth time that he has officiated a TNS match this season. He was in charge for their defeat to Briton Ferry as well as their wins against two wins against Penybont and Cardiff Met.
