Craig Knight has announced a 21-player squad ahead of Cymru’s UEFA U17 Elite Round tournament in south Wales later this month.
Cymru had a positive warm-up camp ahead of the tournament out in Israel in February, with a win and draw against the hosts. In the Elite Round Knight’s side will face Scotland (Wednesday 22 March), Iceland (Saturday 25 March) and Montenegro (Tuesday 28 March).
The match against Scotland (KO 19:00) will be played at Rodney Parade, Newport with free, ticketless entry. The matches against Iceland (KO 16:00) and Montenegro (KO 13:00) will take place at Dragon Park with access only available to friends and family. All three matches will be available for fans to watch live on Sgorio’s Facebook and YouTube channels.
The eight group winners and seven runners-up from the Elite Round with the best records will join hosts Hungary in the finals, to be held from 17 May to 2 June. Cymru qualified for the Elite Round by topping their Qualifying Round group, beating Croatia and drawing against Sweden and Albania in the process.
