Denmark U21 produced a dominant performance to defeat Cymru 4-0 in this UEFA U21 EURO 2027 qualifying match at Vejle Stadion, dealing a significant blow to Cymru’s hopes of reaching the finals.

Cymru began the contest brightly and forced an early corner, but Denmark quickly settled into their rhythm and controlled possession for long spells. The breakthrough came on 17 minutes when Adam Daghim found space inside the area to fire past Evan Watts and give the hosts the lead.

Denmark continued to apply pressure and doubled their advantage on 39 minutes in fortunate circumstances. A dangerous delivery into the box from Clement Bischoff caused confusion in the Cymru defence, with the ball evading Watts and finding its way into the net.

Just three minutes later, the hosts extended their lead further. Conrad Harder reacted quickest inside the area to volley home from close range, sending Denmark into the break 3-0 ahead despite Cymru’s efforts to remain competitive.

Matty Jones made a triple change at half-time as Cymru looked to respond, and there were glimpses of improvement early in the second period. Cian Ashford tested Theo Sander with a curling effort, while Cymru showed greater attacking intent.

However, Denmark continued to threaten and remained in control of the game. Watts was called into action on several occasions as Cymru worked hard to limit further damage, with the visitors showing resilience under sustained pressure.

The hosts eventually added a fourth goal in the closing stages when substitute August Priske slid in at the far post to convert a low cross and complete the scoring.
