FAW Dosbarth is the new home of football education that will house existing Coach and Referee Education as well as brand new Off-Field Education courses, featuring carefully curated, easily accessible content made especially for volunteers involved in grassroots football across Wales.
The FAW recognises that off-field volunteers operate at the heart of grassroots football across Wales, and their work and commitment behind the scenes has a significant impact on football teams, clubs, leagues, Area Associations and communities across the country.
Supporting football clubs and volunteers
The new Off-Field Education courses have been designed to help volunteers feel more confident and knowledgeable in their roles, providing clear guidance that will support the day-to-day running of clubs.
The off-field courses offer practical, bite-size learning that can be accessed on-demand at a pace and time that suits the learner. Courses have no deadlines so everyone can learn at their own pace.
With access to physical resources such as templates, Dosbarth Off-Field Education will also provide volunteers with practical ideas and tangible tools they can utilise to benefit themselves and their club.
Real-life case studies and advice
Case studies and real-life industry advice from volunteers across Wales will bring the lessons to life and help volunteers envisage how they can apply learnings day-to-day.
The Dosbarth Off-Field Education library already contains a wide range of courses, from managing club finances to recruiting volunteers and increasing digital presence. New course topics are constantly being developed to help volunteers tackle the biggest challenges facing grassroots football in Wales today.
People and clubs can reach their full potential
Speaking about the launch of Dosbarth, FAW CEO Noel Mooney said: “The launch of our brand new educational platform – FAW Dosbarth – represents a key milestone in the delivery of the FAW’s strategy ‘Our Wales/Ein Cymru’.
“We have built FAW Dosbarth to offer every volunteer, club, league, match official and coach the ability to learn best processes and practices to enable you to reach your full potential.”
Sophie Hall, the FAW’s Education Manager, added: “FAW Dosbarth offers key information and examples on how to develop your knowledge and skillset so that we can grow and improve Welsh football together – Together Stronger.
“The FAW will work with people at our clubs to continually improve and update FAW Dosbarth so that we are offering everyone best-in-class support.”
