The Football Association of Wales will continue its nationwide Football Fforwm events this spring as part of an ongoing conversation to help shape the future of the game in Wales.
The first round of Football Fforwm sessions, held across the country in November, brought together clubs, volunteers, coaches, referees, players and supporters to discuss the progress of Welsh football and share ideas for the future. The events provided valuable insight and feedback from those involved in the game at every level.
Building on that momentum, the FAW will now host a second round of engagement sessions across the six Area Associations, ensuring that voices from throughout Welsh football continue to help inform the FAW’s next strategic plan, which is due to launch in 2026.
Working in partnership with the Area Associations, the Football Fforwm provides an open platform for discussion, collaboration and feedback, reinforcing the FAW’s commitment to listening to the people who make Welsh football what it is.
Shaping the next strategy
The upcoming Football Fforwm events will provide attendees with an update on the progress made since the initial sessions, while also offering further opportunities to contribute ideas that will shape the next phase of Welsh football’s development.
Discussions will focus on:
- Developments and activities taking place across each of the six Area Associations
- The FAW’s progress since the launch of its current strategy, Ein Cymru, in 2021
- Early priorities and ambitions for the next strategic cycle, aimed at ensuring Welsh football continues to grow and thrive at every level of the game
Each session will also include dedicated feedback opportunities, enabling attendees to share their perspectives on the key issues affecting football in Wales and contribute directly to the development of the FAW’s future strategy.
Continuing the national conversation
The Football Fforwm is designed to ensure that every corner of Welsh football has a voice in shaping the future of the game. From grassroots clubs and volunteers to players and supporters, the sessions provide an opportunity for the football community to come together and help guide the direction of the sport in Wales.
The FAW encourages anyone involved in Welsh football to attend their local event and take part in the conversation. FAW Chief Executive Noel Mooney, said: “The Football Fforwm is an important opportunity for us to listen directly to the people who are involved in football across Wales every day.
“The first round of sessions provided valuable insight and feedback from clubs, volunteers, players and supporters, and those conversations will help inform the next phase of our strategy.
“As we continue to shape the future of Welsh football, it’s vital that we keep engaging with the football community and ensure that everyone has the opportunity to contribute their ideas and perspectives.”
