FAW to Celebrate Pride Cymru 2025

The Football Association of Wales (FAW) at Pride Cymru

The Football Association of Wales (FAW) is proud to once again stand in solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community as it joins Pride Cymru 2025, marking the event’s 26th year in the heart of Cardiff.

Through its celebrations, the FAW remains committed to championing inclusion, representation, and belonging across all levels of Welsh football.

On Saturday 21 June, FAW staff members and their families will proudly join the Pride Cymru march through Cardiff donning retro Cymru kits and rainbow bucket hats.

Across the weekend (Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 June), the FAW will host a community stall at location P65, offering something for everyone:

  • The ‘Ein Crys Cymru’ Tour will stop at Pride Cymru for photo opportunities with the giant Inflatable Cymru shirt (Saturday only)
  • Free EWRO 2025 wall charts to help fans follow Cymru’s historic journey
  • A fun-filled lucky dip and colouring competition
  • A chance to see medals and trophies from the domestic game
  • Opportunities to chat with FAW staff about how we can work together to make Welsh football inclusive, welcoming, and safe for all

Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Integrity Executive, Carys Ingram said: “Here at the FAW our standpoint here at the FAW is always to work towards inclusion and creating spaces of belonging. We believe that everyone belongs in this sport.

“We’re going to carry on working with the Rainbow Wall, our LGBTQ+ and Red Wall community, FAW staff and stakeholders across Welsh football to make sure everyone in this community feels they belong in Welsh football.”

The FAW aims to listen to and engage with underrepresented communities in football to hear their lived experiences in the game and to better understand the barriers and challenges they face.

It is all of our responsibility to continually educate ourselves and be allies to underrepresented groups, to work towards an equal game that reflects all communities across Wales.
