FAW Welsh Cup
First Qualifying Round draw
A record number of 284 clubs have entered this season’s FAW Welsh Cup. 232 clubs – from Tier 3 and below – enter in this First Qualifying Round, before the four highest ranked Tier 3 clubs join in the Second Qualifying Round. The 28 lowest ranked Tier 2 clubs will enter at Round One, while the four highest ranked Tier 2 clubs and the 16 Novira Cymru Premier clubs will enter at Round Two.
In the First Qualifying Round, clubs will be split into a Northern section (100 clubs) and a Southern section (132 clubs). The Northern section has been split at random into two equal pots of 50 clubs, while the Southern section has been split at random into two equal pots of 66 clubs.
Each number drawn in the two section draws will represent the respective club in both Pot 1 and Pot 2 -e.g. Ball 1 will represent both Berriew (Pot 1) and Aberffraw (Pot 2) in the Northern section draw.
First Qualifying Round fixtures will be played across the weekend of 24-26 July.
