Third tier Bangor City 1876 continued their superb run in the JD Welsh Cup with a 2-0 home win over JD Cymru South side Trefelin on Saturday.
A key moment in the game came after just 19 minutes when Trefelin’s Jasper Jones was shown a straight red card after clattering into James Barry as the Bangor midfielder attempted to break away.
However, Bangor did not make good on their man advantage until the 84th minute when two substitutes combined as Dylan Summers-Jones broke away down the right and crossed into the middle for Jack Smith to finish first time. Victory was sealed in stoppage time when Summers-Jones fired an effort against the post and another substitute Sam Jones tapped in the rebound to spark wild scenes of celebration among the 1,376 crowd.
Trearddur Bay became this season’s second team from the third tier to book their quarter-final spot when they won 5-3 in a thriller against JD Cymru South side Newport City at Treborth 3G.
Bay led 2-0 at half-time thanks to goals from Tom Hilditch and Christoph Aziamale, before Kayne Mclaggon pulled a goal back for Newport midway through the second half. However, quickfire finishes from Toby Jones and Sebastian Samuel put the hosts firmly back in control.

Newport almost staged a remarkable stoppage time comeback as Nat Jarvis and Danny Hillman found the net to make it 4-3, but Liam Armstrong scored even later in the added on period to confirm Bay’s spot in the last eight.
Caernarfon Town booked their quarter-final spot with a 4-2 win over Cardiff Met on Saturday evening.
It was level at the break after Ryan Reynolds’ header cancelled out Sion Bradley’s volleyed opener, while there were two goals in two minutes early in the second as Jasper Payne headed Met in front only for Ryan Sears to immediately equalise for the Cofis.
With the tie looking set for penalties, Caernarfon went back in front in the 89th minute as Paulo Mendes diverted Iwan Lewis’ shot past Sam Seager, before Connor Evans sealed victory in stoppage time as he shrugged off Sam Richards and fired home.

Flint Town United progressed past fellow JD Cymru Premier side Penybont on penalties following a 0-0 draw in 90 minutes at the SDM Glass Stadium.
Bont were reduced to 10 men just seven minutes into the contest when Chris Venables was shown a straight red card for a challenge on Harry Owen. Despite being a man down, the hosts had the better of the chances throughout the game but it remained goalless.
In the shootout, Flint’s Dawid Szczepaniak saved Bont’s second effort from Nathan Wood before Dan Higgs kept out the visitors’ fourth spot-kick from Jake Canavan to level it up. However, Mael Davies then blasted his attempt over to allow Jake Phillips to score the winning penalty for Flint.
Rhyl 1879 came from behind to win 2-1 against Porthmadog in the only all-north Wales tie at Y Traeth.
Port went ahead just after the half hour mark when teenage striker Osian Evans robbed Tom Kemp of the ball in the box and rounded Alex Swindell to slot home.
However, Rhyl completed a comeback late on as Jack Parry equalised in the 77th minute by volleying past Josh Cooke before Ben Lightfoot bagged the winner in the 91st minute as tapped home on the line after Damase Kiwanda had played the ball across goal.

Caerau Ely also scored a stoppage time winner as they triumphed 2-1 over Llandudno at Cwrt yr Ala Road.
Adam Stephens put the Seasiders – who are currently top of the JD Cymru North – ahead on 76 minutes, but Dan Griffiths equalised almost immediately for the hosts.
Llandudno were reduced to 10 men in the 90th minute when Stephens was shown his second yellow card in the space of four minutes, before Caerau Ely substitute Tim Parker popped up with the winning goal in the 91stminute as the Young Guns reached the quarter-finals for the second consecutive season.
Barry Town United eased into the last eight with a 4-0 home win over JD Cymru North strugglers Gresford Athletic.
Ollie Hulbert played through Ieuan Owen to fire Barry ahead nine minutes before half-time, before Hulbert found the net himself early in the second half as he sent a low drive past Lewis Dutton.
Hulbert completed his brace on 70 minutes by lashing home from the edge of the box, while substitute Morgan Wigley sealed victory in stoppage time as he cut in from the right and sent an effort into the far corner.

Aaron Williams’ perfect hat-trick inspired Colwyn Bay to a 3-0 win away at Pontypridd United.
The forward broke the deadlock just after the half hour mark when he tapped home the rebound after Ethan Roberts’ volley was only parried by Cameron Clarke.
Williams doubled his and Bay’s tally early in the second half as he coolly slotted home Jordan Davies’ lay off, while he completed his treble soon after by heading in Matty Hill’s cross.
The JD Welsh Cup Quarter-Final draw is live on Heno on S4C, from 7pm on Monday 15 December.
