Real Madrid Manager Carlo Ancelotti is the latest confirmed speaker at the FAW National Coaches Conference 2023.
The Italian, who has enjoyed a glittering career at the helm of AC Milan, Juventus, Chelsea, Paris St Germain, Bayern Munich, Napoli, Everton and two spells at reigning Champions League holders Real Madrid, will present to the coaches gathered at the FAW event in May.
Ancelotti, whose son and current assistant manager, Davide, is among the current cohort of FAW UEFA Pro Licence coaches, will make his conference appearance from the Real Madrid training base, by video link, as he prepares his team for their penultimate La Liga match against Sevilla.
He will address hundreds of Welsh based coaches gathered at the Celtic Manor Resort and an array of international students joining online.
The current crop of FAW UEFA Pro Licence candidates took the opportunity to see Carlo in action last week, as his Real Madrid team were on Champions League duty against Liverpool.
Two of them, Davide Ancelotti and Liverpool coach Vitor Matos, were competing in rival dugouts at Anfield, as Real Madrid claimed an impressive 5-2 win.
Following the match, the group gathered for a presentation from Liverpool assistant manager Pep Lijnders, another graduate of the FAW coach education programme.
“As part of our wider strategic vision we aim to put Wales on the World Stage and our vision for coach education is to be recognised as world leading, having coaches working at the highest level, and enabling our coaches to experience such insights from the top level of the game enriches our coaches across Cymru.”
Dr David Adams, FAW Chief Football Officer
The FAW National Coaches Conference will be held at Dragon Park and the Celtic Manor Resort, Newport, on the weekend of May 27 and 28.
