Rob Edwards steps down as MU19 Head Coach

The FAW can confirm that Cymru MU19 Head Coach Rob Edwards has left his role to pursue a new opportunity at Forest Green Rovers.

Edwards joined the FAW in 2018 as MU17 Head Coach, before moving to the MU19 role in 2019. During his time managing in the Cymru setup, Edwards oversaw the development of several senior Cymru players including Neco Williams, Charlie Savage, Lewis Koumas and Charlie Crew.

Edwards said: “Recently, I accepted an opportunity close to home to work in senior football again and have decided to step away from my role working as lead coach of our MU19 squad.

“I would like to thank the FAW for the opportunity of leading the squad over the last six years, it was always an honour and privilege.

“There are many talented and hard working members of staff in the FAW, working to develop players through the pathway and it was a pleasure to work and learn together with them. I wish everyone working for or cheering Cymru on great success in the future. Diolch.”

Dave Adams, FAW Chief Football Officer, said: “I would like to thank Rob for his commitment to youth development in Cymru, we offer Rob our best wishes for his next challenge.”

The FAW would like to thank Rob Edwards for all of his work involving the Cymru age grade sides.
