Over 4,000 members of the Red Wall are set to descend on Brussels when Cymru play Belgium at the King Baudouin Stadium on Monday 9 June. Whether you have been on away trips before or are part of the travelling Red Wall for the first time, here’s everything you need to know to make your match day smooth, safe and enjoyable.
The stadium is located approximately nine kilometres from the centre of Brussels. The metro to Houba-Brugmann is the best way to reach the stadium, taking roughly 30 minutes to arrive.
Stadium gates will open at 6:30pm All supporters will be searched after their ticket is checked. Searches will be carried out by male and female stewards.
Only small bags (A4 size or smaller) are allowed. Regular, non-professional cameras are permitted, as are power banks—so long as they’re no larger than a mobile phone. Food and drink purchased outside the stadium are not allowed inside. There is no facility to store bags or large items at the ground, so please plan accordingly. Once you’re inside, you won’t be able to exit and re-enter, so make sure you’ve got everything you need before going in.
Flags are permitted as long as they are 2m by 1.5m, if they are larger than this they will need to be approved before the match. Flags will be checked by stewards upon entry. Inside the stadium, food, water, soft drinks, and beer will be available. The stadium is cashless.
Once the match ends, the metro is your best way back to the city centre. Transport from Houba-Brugmann station runs until just after midnight. Please don’t wait too long to head back, as transport options may be limited later in the night.
Cymru fans are known across Europe for their passion and their respect. Let’s keep that reputation strong in Brussels. Be loud, be proud, and look after one another. Enjoy the game and show your support to the players on the pitch.
